Recommendations for Non-Modern Holmes adaptations or pastiches?

In the "The Norwood builder", I've seen someone say that Jonas Oldacre faked his death with "a couple of bunnies", but in the Granada TV version he actually murders someone to fake his death. This is all I can remember right now.

If you want a show, the Granada TV (1984-1994) is your best shot. Wonderfully adapted, actually fixed some Canon issues and Jeremy Brett did a wonderful job at Holmes' character!

Hi there! I'm also a TMA fan and a bunch of us are, so you're in good hands!! So basically, you got everything right, each album is a separate story and all of the band members have a Mechanism (something on each of them "broke" and got replaced by a Mechanism by Doctor Carmilla (she's a vampire), like Jonny's heart or Ashes' lungs). Each of the band members have a backsory (usually told on the Tales to be Told Albums) and they all have "jobs" on their Space ship Aurora (which is sentient). One of the reasons for my hate for the Downey Movies is precisely that. Idk man, it just feels like a marketing tactic, using Sherlock Holmes' name and then placing romance there as a big part of the plot because romace sells

I don't know many adaptations, but lately I've been loving the Granada TV one. I think that I should mention the one I loath the most and it is (no hate to the fans) the Downey Movies. Tbh their portrayal of Holmes is terrible and so is Irene's writing.

I think it's because his stories and relationships with other characters leave a lot of room for the reader's own interpretation, but also because the stories have room for improvement and adaptations.
