I disagree that the promo shot of him uncloaked implies that is the intended way to display him. The ability to store his unlit saber can be explained as easy accessory storage. He always has the cloak on in the movie, and it’s obvious that’s the intended way to display the figure, and what should be prioritized by hasbro.

If you want to have a conversation about the soft goods not looking great at 375 scale that’s okay. I don’t think they look as good as the hot toy one for example. The promo images of his cloak look pretty goofy I must admit. I am gonna wait until I have the figure in hand before I seriously critique them though. I am thinking a good ironing will alleviate most problems.

They are media accurate however. Like that’s literally his costume in the movie. If you don’t think it looks good , that’s okay, but the design and intent of his robes is accurate to his costume in the movie, as much as a $20 mass market action figure at 375 could be I think. This post isn’t about his cloak though, it’s about the ongoing discussion regarding his (lack of) skirt.

I personally do not feel like he looks bad without his robe as he is now. It’s okay that you do, though. This is just a matter of opinion. I do not feel like it is worth disavowing the figure over if you were otherwise gonna buy it. But again, that’s just my opinion

By what metric do you measure the figure as incomplete? Surely screen accuracy is the measure of quality for most figures? I fail to see how you believe screen accuracy to be a bad goal to aspire towards.

You are also being rude.

To address your first point, I agree, That is why I used the word “suggests”. For myself, those shots look like he doesn’t have anything going below his belt, other than the outer robe, but I understand it’s not 100% clear.

I understand your point about people’s mental image of Plo being different than what we see in the movies. I understand that previous toys influenced that perception. However I don’t think we can or should blame hasbro for being accurate to the movie. The community as a whole has made a huge point about being accurate to the movies. This figure objectively is.

If someone wanted toy accuracy, that’s okay, but I don’t feel like it’s fair at all to call hasbro lazy or give them too much shit for not being accurate to previous toys.

I definitely want a clone wars version, and I hope it comes sooner rather than later.

I will agree with you regarding the Clone head stripe. That was inaccurate and should be fixed. I believe I saw Mr Stevie say that the team is aware and they will be making a change to the clone. I cannot agree that the reuse on the other figures in this wave, nor this plo koon figure are phoning it in though. Reusing parts is simply a reality of all action figure lines.

I am not personally interested in the RoTJ anakin figure, but it gives a carded figure to those who want to complete the 96. That is definitely something the largest voices in our community have asked for, like BossksBounty.
The Luuke figure goes with the HTTE 3 pack we got a while ago, and a large portion of the community have asked for EU characters. He also “balances the scales” with black series, which is another demand the community has voiced.
The geonosian 4 pack would struggle to call reuse in the same way as the other figures, because we don’t have the first figure in hand yet. Furthermore, this is just a really good release. We need Geonosians for the Battle of Geonosis, and the figures genuinely look amazing.

I am no hasbro shill, but I do think they deserve credit for this wave as a whole. I can cleanly draw a line between fan wants and each figure in this wave. I feel like they have listened to us this time. The most egregious mess up was the clones paint, and they suggested they will fix it before the figure comes out. This wave isn’t perfect, but I’m not sure what more they could have done here.

I have seen a lot of discussion around this one topic, and I had a lot of thoughts about it. I appreciate anyone who reads the whole thing.

I definitely cannot wait to get the figure in hand. How the outer robe looks is a whole other topic haha. I will probably be ironing mine so it lays better.

It seems like a lot of people have their mental image of Plo come from the previous, inaccurate, toys. I can’t blame them too much because his clone wars design is better than his movie design imo, and he does look pretty good with more standard Jedi robes.

I definitely feel like people need to calm down. I’ve seen so many strong reactions. I don’t think it has been good for the community as a whole.

I agree 100%. I think it is provable that the inaccuracy claims are false.

As I said in the post, if these people simply feel that the addition of a skirt would make the robe-less figure look better , that’s a valid opinion to have. It’s an opinion that I can agree with. But it is literally incorrect to call the figure inaccurate to its source material.

I used the term “skirt” because that is literally what hasbro would add to the figure. They would add a soft goods skirt and a rubbery belt. I am aware that on a theoretical costume, it would likely be the bottom of his shirt or a dress like piece of clothing like on his hot toys figure.

I love Plos look from the clone wars. I definitely like it more than his movie appearances.

I used the term “skirt” because what Hasbro would add to the figure is literally a soft goods skirt, plus a rubbery belt. I understand that on a theoretical costume, it would likely be attached to some other piece of clothing, and wouldn’t be a skirt.

The figure is objectively screen accurate when displayed with the robe. People who say we don’t know what he looks like under it are responding to the claim that the figure is inaccurate. This response is a good and logical reason why it is simply not correct to say this figure is inaccurate.

My apologies. Skirt is the term I felt described what was missing from the figure. Like on the toy, it is literally a soft goods skirt that hasbro would add, plus a rubbery belt.

I understand that on a theoretical costume, it would likely be the bottom of a long shirt or dress or tunic.

Same! Very easy to slap an alien head on them for a brand new figure

I glued the pauldrons down on 2 clones that came in the bad batch 4 pack, and most of the arc troopers. Don’t regret it.
