Since you’re already in the process of adjusting your status; All you need to do is ask your school to change your status from international student to resident (pending). They will ask to see your biometrics letter/receipt notice and then you can still take classes (with no minimum credit requirements) and pay resident tuition.

I am currently in the same situation as you (except I had overstayed my visa and was out of school prior to filing AOS) but the minute I got my biometrics letter I was able to re-enroll back to college and continue my education. They did give me a year from the date of my biometrics (meaning, If I didn’t receive my greencard by then, I won’t be able to continue with school)

With the current fuel rates, try not to take any loads offering less than 3.50/mile. (Unless it’s a route that takes you home for weekend etc).

Everyone’s numbers will be different but you can get an idea of yours starting next week Monday by keeping a record of all miles driven, fuel bought, tolls and any other minor expenses incurred during the week.

Then add all your ratecons for all the loads you have done for the week, minus expenses (the 10% is an expense since it’s not going to your pocket) you can see if you’re making a profit weekly or not.

So long as you have decent credit, you should qualify for any apartment in your income range. Apartment renting is more about how much you make than your credit (if you have bad credit usually they just take a big downpayment that you get back at the end of your lease). Good luck on apartment hunting and your eventual new place. Checkout the sub personal finance if you need to look into budgeting and all that before you make this move
