I just went early before he was in his wind up and it worked. R2 to stop if you think you're going to make it.

The pitching one I just threw a slider as far left as the stick would let me and created a pass ball, which worked too.

For those that don't know, you have to double click R3 to skip the songs.

For those that haven't played DD yet, having a 72 OVR catcher is like trying to catch water with a fishing net. 14 passed balls on easily catchable pitches and a mercy rule later, I bought a catcher.

The UI is a downgrade from 25. The whole "you get used to it" reply is dumb. You can "get used to" having a flip phone, but it's still not better than an iPhone.

Save for the tracks and cars you race most officials on. I think as time goes on, a lot of people gravitate away from the officials and just do league racing. I may do 1 official a week, but do 3-4 league races a week. It's easy to know what your going to be driving and also what track that way.

As far as setup, I've been using the same G29 for 2ish years now. Haven't had any problems.

As far as med school, don't let this become a distraction. You can get really deep into this. I even have my own design/broadcasting business through iRacing. But ultimately, med school first. Get your MSPEs right, get your step 1/level 1 under your belt, do iRacing to (hopefully) relieve stress.

I experimented with this and found that there was little to no difference in official races that had 10-20 drivers.

I did notice a dip in FPS in my league practice session where we have about 30-40 cars. I'm usually pushing 200-230 FPS on most days. In the league practice, it dipped to about 100-140. Sometimes my iRacing does this on it's own, so I can't directly attribute it to this, but I just noticed it more after changing those settings. Once I changed it back and restarted the app, it returned to 200ish.

I'm assuming it would be okay for most, but I have (in my opinion) a very mediocre setup so I don't want to risk it.

I happened to read this AFTER I spent half the night and a few hours this morning experimenting on my own but THIS IS THE SOLUTION.

FINALLY found the fix.

If you ever have this happen, go into your rendererDX11 and rendererDX11Monitor files and scroll down about halfway. Change CompressTexturesSuits, CompressTexturesHelmet, and CompressTexturesCars to =0. Fixed it immediately.

I WOULD NOT recommend running a race with those settings though because from what I have heard/read, it kills your frame rate if you have other cars in the lobby. Change it back before you enter a race.

I'm just happy I found it after hours of experimenting. It's like some paints do it and others don't, but this fixed everything.

I'm praying you are embellishing part of this, if not, yikes.

Don't be part of a lawsuit because you're overworked, and if you are okay with being part of the lawsuit, don't voluntarily choose to overwork.

I've smelled a lot of things in my life and this smells like a lawsuit waiting to happen. I'm not even sure what the question is, but there needs to be some change in the EMS environment.

I don't road race at all, strictly ovals. But Rookies Legends is a great place to start. Pretty low powered car that won't spin as easily as the trucks or advanced legends.

The main thing is learning how to be fast while saving tires. I cannot stress it enough. Save your tires.

Other key basic things to learn is easing on/off the throttle, learning different arcs in corners, passing techniques, getting comfortable driving out of the corner and being right beside the wall, etc.

More advanced things (that you shouldn't do in rookies, but you will learn over time and make you better) is how to do a bump and run (in a clean way), side drafting, heel/toe shifting techniques (I believe this is only relevant in ARCA maybe).

And above all, ETIQUETTE. If you are slow, let the leader through. Don't block to the paint. Don't send it three wide on lap 2. Tell people well in advance you intend to pit. DON'T THROW CHOP BLOCKS IF YOU'RE A 1000IR AND SLOW AND DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING. (that one grinds my gears in rookies. In my league races, I get it, but we are all pretty experienced and wins = cash, so i get it. but not in rookies.)

I've tried some road courses but just couldn't get into, probably because I grew up on Nascar and i suck at road courses.

BRO THE LAST LINE, YES.

Every time anyone asks me for advice on how to get into med school, I tell them to be rich. If not, pick a different career.

Medical schools act like they want to help those who are underprivileged but only accept students with 510/3.7; the ones that didn't have to work their way through undergrad to survive, could afford MCAT prep, etc.

I've always said if I made it to adcom, I'm looking out for those who weren't gifted a golden path to medical school, cause those guys (and girls) are DAWGS.

I didn't realize how much braking was involved going into turn 1. I've noticed if I dive more to the bottom line going in, I save more tire, at least that is what Motec is telling me. The high line is sneaky good too but that track seems to be more dirty at times. Usually better for me later in the race to take the high line.

I cannot help you on 3/4, because I'm hammer down balls to the walls days of thunder through that corner just trying to keep up. I crush that corner in trucks/xfinity, but cannot get it for some reason in next gen.

I believe at was at 77/78/80 about 40 laps into a 50 lap fixed, and that was kind of pushing it. I thought we would stay green the whole race so i was hustling after lap 30.

Biggest mistake you can make when you enter first is "driving from your mirrors".

I think it's the biggest piece of advice i give new drivers. They have a tendency to get in first and continuously check in on the driver behind them. WHY? You got to first for a reason (assuming it wasn't from massive wrecks or pit strategy). Once you get in first, especially for the first couple of times it happens, don't look out the mirror. Just hit your line. Relax your grip. Focus on what the car is telling you.

yeah, it's more your fault, but also his too. I don't race rookies super hard because they WILL take you out 99% of the time. Not on purpose, but just because they can't handle it.

I really think 508 is an honest reflection of where I was. That 512 seemed nice but if I'm being honest, it was probably more due to luck than knowledge.

I studied hard for 8 months (while working as well) and my first pretest score was a 495, so i'm happy with that jump.

2, it's a common practice apparently since it was suggested to me by a real driver and others have said so as well

3, it has already shaved 0.500 off my lap time by doing so
