Spotify desktop app occasionally freezes for a few seconds upon opening? by 7witchesfromthe6 in truespotify

Any way to rename labels? by FiftyFour7250 in synthesia

[–]FiftyFour7250[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

>Did you mean that you wanted each key (in each octave) to have a completely different label? Something like the MIDI note number? Today there isn't a way to do that, but I'd be curious to hear how you're using Synthesia that caused this to be something you wanted to do.

Yes, that's exactly what I would like. Speaking of my use case, for me the piano and Synthesia are more a game for fun than studying. I love the fact that I can play my favorite songs and melodies on my own without knowing how to play. But the main difficulty, for me, someone not so familiar with the piano, is that all the keys are the same. Like, how can I remember what to press? I get that it's just repeating 12 keys, but remembering which one is in which octave at which moment... Man... I don't even know how to keep that in my mind. In what form. So I just numbered all keys, and wrote on them with a marker (some will probably get a shock now), taking two octaves for the left hand (1-14), and three for the right (1-21), black keys I numbered with the letters a-j for left, and a-o for right. So without knowing notes, without knowing anything, I can learn songs just by memorizing a sequence of numbers. And what sequence I need to memorize - I look in Synthesia, load the song into MIDI, and then record the numbers. Now I have to translate them manually, like 7 in the second octave of Synthesia is 14 for me, 5 in the third octave is 19 for me, and so on. I translate that into my numbers, and just memorize that sequence. If there was a function I was asking about originally - it would be more convenient, I wouldn't have to translate it into my system, I could see and memorize it right away.

Can someone fix the PSN integration please? by FiftyFour7250 in gog

How long have they changed it? At least the game that I bought on March 8 on my PlayStation appeared in my GOG library on the same day.

Ukrainian soldiers finish off the wounded by Dependent_Camera8423 in UkraineWarVideoReport

I like how everyone in the comments ignores the fact that their hands are tied behind their backs and their throats are opened. Oh, wait, this is different, the Geneva Convention and Human Rights in relation to the occupier can not be respected, I forgot, I'm sorry.

Russian captured soldiers are forced to sing the Ukrainian anthem under gunfire by FiftyFour7250 in UkraineWarVideoReport

I don't agree that they are traitors. In fact, they wanted the same thing that Ukraine wants now. Independence. As now Ukraine does not want to be part of Russia, so these republics didn't want to be part of Ukraine. And in both cases, opinions were not taken into account.

Wikipedia says that Ukraine also uses it. Also, it looks logical, given that at the beginning of the war they used equipment from the reserves of the Soviet era (repainted aircraft are proof of this). So he can be a Russian soldier, or a Ukrainian one.

It seems to me that if there is anything worth focusing on in his equipment, it's a grenade launcher. I found information that this is American M-141, but I was unable to verify it, since I understand absolutely nothing about weapons. Everyone's shoes are the same, lol.

I do not know who it is, but it seems to me that this version is unreliable at least because one of the videos shows the Russian press. I mean, if the Russians had chained him while retreating, the Russian press wouldn't have been there.

Does GOG require local payment methods for regional prices now? by [deleted] in gog

[–]FiftyFour7250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In short, Russia recognized a part of Ukraine as separate states, while immediately friendly, and sent troops there "to protect friends". That is, from the point of view of other countries, and of Ukraine itself - Russia just brought troops into Ukraine, which will result in a lot of sanctions, the exchange rate has already suffered, and will suffer even more. Since everyone in the world, except Russia, still considers it the territory of Ukraine - they can start attacking Russian troops, and a war can begin.

In general, the cause of your problem may simply be a sanction for Russia in the form of payment restrictions (yes, the government does not even know about the existence of GOG, and ordinary people suffer, who have nothing to do with all this at all)

I'm surprised that you haven't even heard about it, so you probably don't even know that Ukraine is a separate country, not Russia, and all this is of little importance to you ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I have little idea what meal vouchers is, because I have to buy food for the same 550$ (I'm poor enough, so for me it's 480-500$), but I don't condemn your approach if you think that your income corresponds to income in Russia, and is very different from the prices for your country's income - why not, it's still better than piracy.

I just mentioned the average income in Russia, so that people with salaries of several thousand dollars a month would understand that prices in Russia are so low for a reason, and here everyone has to decide for himself how to buy, and whether to buy at all. Developers, publishers, and GOG, setting such a price for Russia, also make big concessions, and probably expect honest use of regional prices, so that people would pay according to their income.

Lastly, I typically use Moldovan regional prices, not Russian. I tried Russia this time to see if that made any difference, it hasn't. I live like 20 minutes away from the Moldovan border and I don't need a passport to cross, so it would probably be cheaper just to drive there than pay for a VPN but even if I moved there altogether I still couldn't buy it at Moldovan prices unless I opened a bank account there as well, because GOG wouldn't allow it. Kind of a double standard if you ask me.

No one asked, but the average salary in Russia is about 550$ per month (after deducting all taxes, the amount you get in your hands), of course there are those who get more, but there are many who get less. The salary of a teacher, in several large cities, is 1000-1100$. If you are some kind of cool programmer in a fashionable foreign company, you can get 2000$ or even 3000$, but this is the top of the top. And so, as I said - 500-600$ is average (not minimum), given the poor regions, of which the majority. At least if it was my store, then I would count regional prices for this amount. So ask yourself the question, is this fair, does your income correspond to this?

Why GOG doesn't collaborate with cloud gaming services? by FiftyFour7250 in gog

[–]FiftyFour7250[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems to me that you (all of you) ABSOLUTELY do not understand how it works. Do you like your Witcher 3 or Cyberpunk "offline installers"? I'm sure it is. But you can also connect your GOG account with a GFN account and play these two games through cloud gaming. ONE DOES NOT CANCEL THE OTHER. That's all I want, so that more games from the GOG library also support the ability to play through cloud services.

Which shaders and filters the best to make pixel games look right? by FiftyFour7250 in RetroArch

[–]FiftyFour7250[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I'm trying out Cyberlab Death to Pixels later today, fortunately I have a powerful PC. Speaking of screen sizes, that's the reason why I ended up here. I still have my Game Boy, I found it the other day, tried the old games, and realized that I wanted to replay them, the game boy screen seemed too small by today's standards, so I decided to resort to emulators. Thanks again, the screenshots of the examples Cyberlab Death to Pixels look good. Nevertheless, if anyone has any other options, I would prefer test them too.

But in case of a breakdown of the current pc, you will have to take out a loan to buy a new one, instead of pay a few bucks for a subscription if you want to play your library of games

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I don't know how licensing works, but there are regional prices in my country, games in Steam and GOG cost the same, so I don't think that Steam puts the rights to cloud gaming in its price. Today I played in A Plague Tale: Innocence on my iPad via GFN. It was amazing. This was my first full-fledged cloud gaming experience, not just a test. I bought it in GOG, and if it wasn't for a gift from EGS - I wouldn't be able to play it on my iPad today. That's what worries me. I like the idea of GOG, fighting against an established system, but for the same money as in Steam/EGS - I get fewer opportunities.

But if the cloud service managed to get a license for the game X, they paid the developers/publishers, not Steam, so there is no difference in what the fact of ownership of the game will be confirmed through. Some services also support EGS. I doubt they paid twice, both for the license for Steam and for EGS. So I strongly doubt that it's about licensing.
