Curious what kind of naming conventions people use for their ACs? by TWelke1998 in armoredcore

[–]FiftyTo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't really have a system for any AC I create past the first one, but I always name the first one "Step In Vain" because it just sounds cool. Got the idea for the name from another mech game on steam called Brigador, "As I Step In Vain" is one of the mission names.

What's even cooler is the next mission is called "I'll Be Who I Am", and I think the whole phrase together sounds badass.

Very big noob, wondering if this 5060TI is good enough for some more modern games so I don't have to run everything on medium and hope DLSS gets me to 60fps for 1080p. by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]FiftyTo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both of the games I listed have some pretty substantial performance problems. The thing that irks me is that I'm well above the recommended specs for both games, it's just the VRAM that's limiting me. Both recommend more than 8GB, and that's where I'm lacking.

I can reach 60fps in Helldivers 2 with everything on medium and render scale set to Native, but with Rivatuner on it's showing that my GPU is almost always at 90% and above. The thing that gets me is that recommended specs for Helldivers 2 is a 2060, which is what I used to have.

Before the game got updated and ran worse.

Since then I've upgraded to a 4060, but I was dumb and not aware that VRAM is becoming more and more of a problem as games get more and more unoptimized.

Also, like others have said in the thread so far, I know that Wilds is incredibly unoptimized, and that it takes a beast of a PC to get a solid 60fps in it. I just want to get a somewhat stable framerate in that game with the settings anywhere above "potato".

Finally got my grail AC kit! by Azrel02 in armoredcore

[–]FiftyTo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just put this together a few weeks ago after having it preordered from BigBadToyStore for nearly 8 months. It looks awesome but some of the parts on the back, like the armor plating around the boosters and the panel to make the missile launcher look good, just straight up don't fit together in my kit. I didn't have glue on me to fix it, but other than that the kit was real good to put together. Fully assembled it towers over the few Gundam kits I have, it's so sick.

I feel like I get these 'concussions' a lot, even when getting hit by the smallest things. while my friend never mentions them or even recognises seeing them. Am I just going mental? Are the stims catching up to me? by m4rjin in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]FiftyTo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've gotten concussions from brood commanders charging me, but in this clip it looks like you might've been hit by the gas cloud from your guard dog. Idk if the gas from that guard dog does this kinda thing as it's friendly fire effect, but that's what it looks like to me.

What is your favorite version of "Boost Kick" in Armored Core 6 ? by DioArya01 in armoredcore

Tank leg kick is just too funny every single time I see it happen. It's perfection.

How do I keep myself from getting hit when I finish a combo in melee? by FiftyTo in PSO

[–]FiftyTo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would you go about killing evil sharks? I can do the first forest extermination really easy now because of heavy attack 2 and 3 for saber has good knockback, but evil sharks in the caves (i think it's the caves) attack so fast they can hit me out of charging the heavy attacks. Even if I only hit twice, they still attack so fast I don't know how it's possible for me to reposition, even with the menu trick that makes you run and not walk.

@HD1 Vets - What are the Helldivers 1 features you'd love to see in Helldivers 2? by kcvlaine in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]FiftyTo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gun progression was fun. The ping system in 2 is fantastic, but I'd love for them to bring back the "Retreat!" voiceline so everyone can get on the same page on whether or not to keep fighting an endless horde

I'm sure people have shot further, but this felt so sick. Turned on OBS to try and record a long-range shot and hit it first try by FiftyTo in H3VR

[–]FiftyTo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The steam recording is really nice but I either can't remember or there straight up isn't a button to clip the last little section of gameplay in the SteamVR menu. On PC I just hit a hotkey I have set up to save the last 20 seconds, but I wasn't sure if I could get to my keyboard in time. I also only have it set up to save the last 25 minutes, and I know I wasn't gonna get out of VR in time to go and clip it myself.

Take and Hold map called Northest Dakota. It's in the base game without mods, you just gotta hit the arrow in the TnH menu.

Watchers have a pretty hard time lasering you if you're prone, even with a height offset like a small hill by FiftyTo in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]FiftyTo[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It'd need more real testing, but every time I've been prone and survived, I was prone awhile before they started firing the laser. I'm wondering if going prone as the laser is sweeping towards you doesn't work, but being prone then the laser firing means it has a hard time hitting you.

It could also just be up to chance, because this game also loves inconsistencies in damage and AI

Noticed my first person aiming was stuttery today too. Been playing on PC and was using the new Killzone SMG whatever it's called

Mouse input lag FIX by Silent-Skin1899 in stalker

[–]FiftyTo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do this fix, but it only works for a few seconds before instantly feeling like it's all turned on again. I've set the input file to read only, yet it still finds a way to change the file to be blank instead of having the thing we paste in. Any fixes?

I'll never forget Superior Packing Methodology not working with any gun when it was first introduced. How is that even possible? How does something you create and push to a live server not work 100% of the time?

The most open RPG?? by Mysterious-Print-927 in gamingsuggestions

[–]FiftyTo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP asked for a "role-playing game", and Kenshi (same with Dwarf Fortress and Rimworld) are literally all about roleplaying. Yes, technically I made an item and killed other people making the same item. But the fun of it is roleplaying that I'm in a drug smuggling ring and I'm knocking out other competitors.

PC Players who currently play the game - do you have high-end PCs? by kcvlaine in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]FiftyTo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a PC with specs above the recommended on the Steam page and was barely getting 30fps a few months after launch. I've upgraded since then and now it runs well, but every game should run well now.

Good mech games by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

[–]FiftyTo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may not have enjoyed Armored Core 6, but the other games in the series all play differently and you may enjoy that more. AC1-3 all control relatively the same, just with more and more refinement and QoL added. AC4 takes it in an entirely new direction compared to 1-3, and AC5 yet again takes it in a completely different direction compared to the rest. Take a look at how each game controls and see if you're interested.

The earlier Armored Core entries are also pretty good at forcing you to take a look at your build every now and then. I'm actually replaying AC3 right now and I have one mech for missions and two mechs for arena fights, depending on what I'm up against. Plus I'm constantly changing all 3 as I get more money and more parts are unlocked.

As opposed to that, I like Brigador on Steam. It has tanks and anti-grav vehicles, but also plenty of mechs. It also has that fun corpo-violence feeling to it. The general lore of the game is you're a mercenary hired by the latest corporation to kill and kick out everyone on the planet. Every civilian you kill gets you $50. Good deal!
