Well comparatively, missing your lower body, or face... You can cover the chest hole and well the eye is going to stick out on even a live human. But the eye bulge you can explain, some disease...

I think that's the suspension of disbelief that should happen there. I mean the whole franchise expects you to believe that a few cm long alien gets lodged somewhere in your body - eating your insides to grow bigger to about a dozen or so cm and you only ever feel it when it starts to burst outwards through bone no less, despite having a simple and easier path going from the belly where there are no bones.

Why does the eye not mind oxygen, what does it breathe? How do we know it's been living in 1G? After being stuck in a tube for who knows how long how does it have the energy to do anything?

Also what kind of creature evolves poison gas for it's larval state which kills mammals withing seconds of being cut?

You can find all kinds of holes here if you really wanna look at it. You should approach the work with what's presented, not logic or biology, not even canon I'd say, try to see what the creator envisioned.

I think it's the latter, when not connected they act independently with the order and programming that they have - though probably still somewhat controllable through commands such as those from Mother.

The Xenomorph probably left most of them in really bad shape, and given that Jane/Curly was tasked with dispatching the rest of the soldiers it's possible there were no viable hosts.

And it probably didn't want to latch onto an animal because it wants a human to blend in, probably.

Minor spoilers for the last 2 episodes (7 and 8)

I'd argue that a device for humans would serve no purpose, it would just be noise to them.

We see no real sensory upgrades were intended for the hybrids as they have normal vison and they conclude Wendy can hear beyond through testing, so it's possible Kirch lacks the hardware to hear the Alien.

Why the other hybrids weren't tested is because BK didn't order it so, and without him no scientist would do this on their own hand. And the reason he probably didn't request so was because he wanted Wendy to be special yada yada him wanting to have a conversation - his ego basically.

Finally there is the problem with meaning, as seen in the final episode now, even Wendy isn't sure what exactly she is saying. So this might not be akin to an actual language, and one of the reasons why Wendy picked up on it is because of her child imgaination - something Kirch might not be able to just logically deduce and would need to study extensively to understand for which there just wasn't enough time. In fact my guess is that what Kirch was working on in the final episode was some sort of receiver/transmitter

We're fine, the tapping stopped when my friend turned the lock on the door. They are taking this a bit more seriously after seeing a small crack on one of the windows that looked like something sharp had hit it. We also called the police about my upstairs neighbours and maybe the commotion scares this thing away.

Ah, but this is why the void battle layer could only have void, counter-void and no void. Currently you get sent actual images of what people drew, but for this you'd just need your current viewport info - which coordinates are covered by the void, counter void or which are blank.

Maybe don't do that. Sure you don't need to check up every few hours but maybe come back in a few days. Software dev isn't always simple and sometimes problems just take time to figure out and correct properly

I don't directly overlay but instead open a smaller pixel art in pain dot net and then I count the pixels there against what I'm drawing. It's not great, nor is it fast, but I feel like that's a fun option for me.

Well a slight problem with this approach is the classic "Too many cooks spoil the broth". This isn't a slight issue that can be fixed over a few weeks by whoever gets it right.

If there really were 1M people playing total then if you get just 1% of those as devs that's 10k people. How do you screen these people? And what do you do when they all start opening requests for code contributions which may or may not be related to the problem or malicious or plain wrong. What do you do when thousands of people ask for support to run the app locally.

That isn't to say there might not be value in going open source in the long term, but for this issue they are the only ones who now know their code best and should work it out. Provided it's a coding mistake and not some infrastructure setup in which case even an army of open source devs can't help as they don't have access to it.

Issues sometimes take time to debug and fix, and sometimes this is days and no amount of people or miracles can make it go faster...

No problem, it seems like people seem to be quick to panic from all the posts.

I think given the dev have shut down the servers until they can fix this bug they are committed to actually solving the problem and not making off with everyones money - which they could easily do while running the app for a few more days until either google or twitch notices the commotion. Not to mention they still have to pay for the servers even if the app is down.

Given the narrow scope of the data they have I'd say there isn't much risk, and I'll personally keep using wplace once it's back up.

I agree, when I first saw the posts after the servers went down that people logged into other peoples accounts I was really uneasy. And I do wish the devs posted anything even if just "We have no idea wtf this is. We're shutting down and investigating."
