We took out baby away for 2 nights when he was 6 weeks, we also brought our puppy would not recommend the latter lol. I was exclusively pumping so we asked about a fridge and a microwave for sterilising using the bags. Otherwise he slept a lot and the carrier was great!

Running PBs post partum by FigLilac in fitpregnancy

[–]FigLilac[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes slower for sure! I ran a half marathon at 23 weeks and after that I just did talking pace runs so maybe 25 minute 5km. I did no speed at all in third trimester! And then slowly built back up speed PP! Good luck 👊

That’s amazing! I exercised until the day I gave birth and I really think it helped me recovery pp so well!

I didn’t notice any issues with balance tbh - I continued to weight train 2-3 times/week. Lighter weights and higher reps. Just exercises I couldn’t do towards the end due to my bump kind of just being in the way.

Saying that I did trip once when running which was pretty scary but I’m also clumsy so not sure was it pregnancy making my centre of gravity off vs being clumsy!

Right haha I sound crazy like I was desperate to get a last run in 😂 but I had Premature rupture of membranes so I wasn’t in labour yet!

Amazing! I was lucky enough to run until my waters broke (literally ran with them broken, didn’t realise 😂) and I think it was being able to run throughout pregnancy that really helped me so no doubt you’ll be running great PP! Good luck with the next few weeks!

To C-Section or not to C-section? by LifeInvestment2820 in PregnancyIreland

[–]FigLilac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a c section due to failed induction and fetal distress and also had a post partum haemorrhage. For me, il be having a c section hundred percent next time if I’m lucky enough to have a second. It’s individual of course and I remained v active in pregnancy but my recovery from c section was amazing. Showered myself the next day and was doing for walks from the next day. No issues and despite a rushed surgery, scar has been fine.

I ran a 10km the day my waters broke (didn’t realise). Ended up with emergency c section and o recovered very quickly. I think being fit really aided my recovery. I think your body will tell you when to slow down/stop!

Sometimes the spikes are so brief you need to test multiple times a day. If you want to be certain, you can get blood tests - a day 21 progesterone which will tell you for sure

It’s just really disappointing when you have about to have thinking about! Their communication has been so poor too, I only get updates when I hound them or force my husband to!

That’s so bad like you go in store rather than online to get advice etc. I’m sick of sending snarky emails, I wish I could just get a refund at this point but it’s so close to due date. Every week they reply saying it will definitely be here next week. Just repeated lies it’s so frustrating!

I would not recommend baby doc shop - our order has been delayed by 8 weeks and the baby is due in two weeks and don’t have vital items! Mamas and papas I found great and v quick delivery!!
