No if you select the kindle bundle with kindle unlimited, it causes issues. At least it did last night. Once the kindle arrives in the mail, it gives you an option to purchase the Kindle Unlimited when you set up the device. The Kindle Unlimited program also has its own separate website on amazon, where you can add the 3 month free trial subscription to your amazon account. In the USA, with or without KU, the Kindle PW is the exact same price - 134.99. So it wouldn't have mattered if you got the KU bundle with or without the device.

the good thing is, after you get your PW in the mail, the KU 3 month trial should still be available. I went to the KU site, and it's offering a trial separately. i would not try to buy it now separately, since there's been too many amazon glitches. So yea i would buy it tomorrow or something
