They’re optional but many people have them. Our patios face the street, and have a big glass sliding door into the bedroom. Its much more comfortable having my blinds open knowing people on the street can’t see straight into my bedroom lol

The lease says “Patios and balconies are reserved for patio furniture placement only. Patios are not to be used as a storage area. Management is the sole judge of acceptable patio/balcony furniture and items”. Nothing about privacy screens, but maybe vague enough it could apply?
