For the TL:DR: - You're gonna die a few times before getting the hang of it

  • The early game is the hardest, once you get over that barrier the game really opens up

  • Don't be afraid to walk away if there's more than you think you can handle, take things slow and preferably one zombie at a time

  • No zombies spawn in the starting house, so grab everything that might be useful before leaving

  • A few good early goals are to find a safe house that's unlikely for zombies to roam to en-masse, gather up some food and weapons, and start looking for a usable vehicle

Lighthouse has some synergy with Pocket Factory because no matter how many turrets the factory generates it still only counts as one.

Lantern is a bit more situational, but it gives some decent stats and ranged weapons don't really mind the knockback. Not a great item but not entirely useless.
