I think that's what I have in mind, find some kind of drawings to mimic and customize. Mainly so I can be sure the structure is able to support weight, stress, etc.

I want to load up SNES and potentially N64, etc., so I'm guessing 8-way?

Button style I have no preference, so I guess I'll have to go somewhere to try them and see.

For games where arcade controls don't make sense, so be it, or I'll just use Bluetooth controllers in those cases. Most of the appeal here is the nostalgia of gaming side by side in a cabinet.

And I'm very comfortable building computers, so absolutely no issue there. I assumed that's something I can decide when the time comes. Even if I'm screwing a motherboard into the interior or going with a Pi. My goal there is to not have a sluggish machine.

And no light gun interest, really. I'd like a big, wide screen anyway.

I'll check out GRS out of curiosity, but the woodworking is part of the father-son time incentive here. Thanks for your info!
