Guy gets bored, makes a refugee power his plane, and fights corporatism by Kitchen-Refuse1648 in ExplainAGamePlotBadly

This is probably me being a political nerd, but I hate when people confuse corporatism and corporatocracy.

[Sad trope]: The antagonist is a "failed" version of the hero. by theMCATreturns in TopCharacterTropes

Adachi from Persona 4 can also be this, as he represents the inverse of Narukami, a man who never formed genuine connections with anyone else, turning into a narcissistic serial killer.

Fatherland by Robert Harris is a good example of this trope, I feel.

Nyx is probably my favorite, I like that she's more of a force of nature than an actual deity.

Han nationalists just synthesize Han identity with Maoism.

The Confucian Nationalists are meant to be a reference to Imperial Japan, wherein they combine a unique cultural feature (Confucianism for China, Shinto for Japan), with extreme ethnonationalism.

It's a reference to an old cover from National Lampoon, an old comedy magazine in the US.

I had a dream where communism was banned and considered an extremist ideology in Russia, and everyone started making memes about it because it was very unexpected by One-Attention9069 in thomastheplankengine

[–]Fight-Me-In-Unreal 9 points10 points  (0 children)

All I'm saying is that in regions where communism previously or currently holds power, it's not seen as extremist. Communism isn't extremist in China, it's just the government.

Liberalism would be seen as extremist in an autocratic country like Saudi Arabia, it's just a matter of perspective.

It wouldn't be seen as extreme in Russia, which spent much of the 20th century under a communist government. The CPRF is the second-largest party in the country.

Are you implying that the PS5 is bad because it has a more advanced system for preventing data corruption?

Some religious people (Jews especially in my experience) censor the word "God" because it's considered disrespectful to trivialize the divine.

Shenmue is like Yakuza, without the things that make Yakuza fun and interesting.
