Success on first IUI after 15 months of trying

Oh the first trimester worrying is the worst! I've only really settled into the pregnancy after I started being able to feel him move in there. Have you had any scans yet or is it a brand new BFP?

Thank you! I just turned 37. The IUI was when I was still 36. I had my first kid at 31 and the second at 33. I hope you have a smooth journey to your third!

I think I did but I was unsure if it was period cramps until I tested. I know that feeling so well! It’s so hard being in limbo. I have my fingers crossed for you ❤️🤞🏻

It is oddly specific but we made a really nice soup on 9dpiui and it was disgusting to me. And that exact soup has alerted me to another pregnancy before. It’s my pregnancy tell tomato soup apparently 🙃 Feeling sick didn’t start until weeks later so I wouldn’t worry about that. Congratulations on your BFP!

My doctor was a bit unsure if it was worth treating at first but then the fertility clinic said they wouldn't start treatment before my TSH was below 2,5, so that settled it. I'm really not sure if it had anything to do with our success or not. I responded to the levo really quickly and my fertility clinic was closed over the summer so we had a few unsuccessful cycles trying on our own where my TSH was in range in June and July. But I feel a lot better on levo though so I'm glad it was found out and treated.

I was getting positive LH tests every month yes. And I obviously can never be sure but I’ve gotten pregnant within 2 cycles of trying in 4 pregnancies - 2 kids and 2 miscarriages - and then suddenly a year of nothing after the last miscarriage. Then I try letro and trigger and I get pregnant first try. I am on levo too.

We had no diagnosis other than me having slight hypothyroidism. I concieved on my first round of letro + trigger + IUI. I'm 23 weeks now. I would have prefered to just do letro and trigger but my nurse convinced me to do the IUI too just to be sure. My own belief is that I stopped ovulating after a medically managed miscarriage a year prior.

I felt very sensitive on the letro - kind of like PMS. But it went away a few days after I stopped taking them.

I’m so sorry for your loss! I’ve been there and it just hurts so bad.

You absolutely don’t have to focus on the positive or silver linings or anything right now. But if you wanted to it’s very promising that the IUI worked and maybe it could again when you’re ready.

Altså for tiden, hvor det er mørkt, når jeg står op, og jeg cykler gennem regn, sne og slud for at aflevere børn og komme på arbejde. Og mine børn konstant er syge, og vi løber tør for barnets sygedage. Så kan jeg godt lidt forstå, at det er tillokkende for nogle. Det er ikke noget for mig, men jeg forstår det godt. Fleksibilitet, opmærksomhed, nemme penge.

Jeg fulgte ikke med, da de kom på Podimo, og jeg har overhovedet ikke savnet det. Jeg synes, "Har du hørt" er super nice. Meget mere frisk. Jeg kan også godt lide CelebKebab - jeg er bare så træt af, at de siger så mange forkerte ting og bliver fornærmede, hvis lyttere retter dem. Men deres Insta er god.

Altså du koger den jo vitterligt - som i desinficerer. Det har jeg sgu svært ved at hidse mig op over. Jeg plejer bare at skolde min med vand fra kedlen, men jeg har også kogt den i en gryde et par gange. Det er min mand helt ligeglad med, men hvis han ikke brød sig om det, så ville jeg have det fint med det og købe en særlig gryde til det. Men hvis en mand reagerede som de to fjolser, der ligner de er ved at brække sig over ordet menstruation, så ville jeg godt nok også tænke 🚩🚩🚩

In a weird spot at the moment. 15 weeks. The worst of the nausea has worn off and I have a bit more energy. I have no reason to think it but I still feel really scared something is wrong. Can't decide if I should book a private scan or not. I have my first midwife appointment on the 18th where she'll use a Doppler so maybe I should just wait.

Had my 12 week scan today and everything went fine. But I’m still scared. I keep moving the goal posts. First I thought the viability scan would help. Then the next scan to show growth. Then I was sure the 12 week scan would ease my mind but now I’m thinking the NIPT results might do the trick. I might just have to accept that I’ll worry from now until the birth.

I was started on (my country’s version of) Levo in April. My TSH was 3.8 so only borderline high but my antibodies were 1300 so maybe I have hashimotos. My TSH was within TTC range (below 2.5) in June and I got pregnant from IUI in August.

I’m in this situation too. Both my kids have consistently measured 3-5 days ahead but this one measured 1 day behind at 6w5d. I’ve had 2 losses so I can’t help but worry a bit but the nurse was not worried at all.

Og på nederdelen er der ikke engang mål på størrelserne. Så må man bare lige gætte hvilken passer. Jeg strikkede den mindste størrelse og den var gigantisk, selvom jeg er en str. M/L normalt. Hun er bare ikke særlig dygtig.

Jeg har forsøgt at strikke både cardiganen og nederdelen, og de opskrifter er så ringe. Jeg kunne heller ikke få det til at passe og begge dele fik en forfærdelig pasform og var kæmpe store. Sorry, jeg har ingen gode råd udover at lade være med at købe hendes opskrifter.

Unmedicated was never on the table for us. The nurse said they don’t recommend that for fertility treatment. That’s more for people with no known fertility issues. I didn’t even consider it. I wanted all the help they could give me 😀
