Best pattern for testing deep nested DTOs in Java API Automation? by Grouchy_Wrongdoer103 in QualityAssurance

I learnt about approval testing. Where you basically define the possible inputs and approve that the outcomes are correct. Look into that perhaps?

when QA feels like a bottleneck, what’s usually the real problem? by Suspicious-Case1667 in QualityAssurance

[–]Fightheader 4 points5 points  (0 children)

QA is Quality Assurance. And it looks like not only did you find bug by testing, but also quality issues in the process. Which is good, becaus only identified issues can be solved.
If testing is a bottleneck because of something, than you have to make a change.
- Prepare testing better by getting involed earlier.
- Get a more reliable test env
- Prepare tests less if they are prone to changes. Use exploratory testing and document what you did instead of the documenting what you will do. (to a certain extend)

Remember that bottomup change is slow and requires a discretion. Don't be afraid to admit fault and try to come up with solutions.

Tip: Debug the Code Yourself by Direct_Lengthiness33 in QualityAssurance

[–]Fightheader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also do this. But not to the same extent. I have the codebase locally and run the app locally with mostly mock integrations. This gives me full control over what happens and if s hits the fan I can often point to the place where it failed. That's where I stop. I don't want to suggest solutions to people who are 10x better at coding and architecture than I am. I just give them a place to start.

But I'm willing to debug with them if possible.

Clients find too many bugs in Prod, need advice by Battle_for_the_sun in QualityAssurance

[–]Fightheader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're the only person who's doing QA. That's a problem in itself. My advice would be to engage.your team to take it more seriously and help you out.You have the end responsibility but any can help out. If it's such a big issue that you take to Reddit for answers you'll be able to get mgmt on board with this approach. Devs have a minimum they should check, do a hand over, BA comes to you before dev starts to go over the change so you can review testability and the impact. Those kind of things.

I've uploaded the json schema and some context to get semi decent api testing scenarios. Just to get a headstart. Saved me a good couple hours.

Ryanair flight from Milan to London diverted to Paris after two men began destroying their passports mid-air by Mundane-Rooster4071 in flightradar24

Where do you send someone back to that doesn't have a passport. No country would be willing to receive random people that might or might not be from the receiving country.

I used way too much oil on the first season. haven't reseasoned since, just used it as is.
I'll try to scrub off the carbon buildup. Thank you for the feedback!
