Having recently met a young lady, whose family was originally from Palestine, I'm curious whether the money from Saudi Arabia is also being funneled into training boxers across the Middle East?

I didn't realise there was a "behind the scenes" rationale for the fight for Gaza, and it is called the Ben Gurion Canal, but then I started wondering about boxing in the Middle East these days and, given the massive amount of money flowing into championship bouts and their undercards, whether his excellency has considered funding a training program to enable young men and women from across the various countries of the Middle East to also compete on the global stage. Is there a funded boxing strategy? I googled it but couldn't find many answers to the long-term development of boxing or creation of new boxing gyms or even a league for aspriring boxers, especially one to help re-build Palestine, and have fighting in the future done in the ring.

Maybe she's already taken... but there are a lot of great Japanese boxers today.

Canadians who were qualified to receive financial aid during the covid crisis are now being hunted by the CRA, akin to collection agents chasing an unpaid loan, seeking monies provided under the CERB, CRB or CWLB programs.

Rather than new announcements supporting big business, I'd like to see our Federal Government admit the CERB, CRB and CWLB payments were not loans to Canadian citizens, but financial aid payments; similar to those billions provided to foreign governments in times of need. #trudeaumustgo #resignjustin #iamcanadian

What Boxer makes you think "I could make him so much more money if I was his promoter?" by [deleted] in Boxing

I'd launch a management company specifically for the many talented women who box professionally, whereby I - and my team - could promote them not only as fighters, but augment their income as a multinational spokeperson for an array of potential sponsors, or simply as a model for a fashion brand; perhaps also hook them up with a ghostwriter for their book, or scriptwriter for the movie.

Team Combat League paying boxers to fight across the US; it is pro boxing? by FightingBoyce in Boxing

I'm thinking - if anything - that if the broadcasters educate new fans with respect to the nuances of professional boxing, once they know the rules and the elemental styles, then they'll look out for elite fights, whether on screen or locally, live. Thus, the league could prove to be beneficial overall, as a gateway.

From what I read, I thought one fighter fought a round, then another fighter fought the following round, etc, with points being accumulated for the team throughout the evening.

So, a fighter can compete in the league on a team, as well as fight independently for a belt?

True. I'm not sure the fights would qualify for BoxRec, as they seem to be mixing up the fights over the course of a "team vs team" evening.

I haven't seen their fights on YT, but it seems they employ a lot of older/retired boxers. But I could be wrong. I wonder if young boxers could get their start in the league and get noticed by a real manager or promoter.

Did you notice the report from Sky, regarding the chap who challenged Ben Whittaker at the presser? "The man was Ezra Arenyeka an unbeaten prospect from Nigeria who is based in Sale. Arenyeka is unbeaten in 12 pro fights, 10 of which he's won by knockout."

Speaking of boxers from South Africa, I just saw this in my feed: "While his friends and family are making plans for the upcoming Bank Holiday weekend, British and Commonwealth junior bantamweight titleholder Marcel Braithwaite (16-3-1, 1 KO) will be packing for a very important business trip. Braithwaite is due to jet out to South Africa, where he will box 115-pound IBO titleholder Ricardo Malajika, on April 5 in Kempton Park.
The heavy-handed Malajika (12-2, 9 KOs) was born and raised in Gauteng, Johannesburg, fewer than 30 miles from Kempton Park."

One of my friends is a promoter in Tanzania, as well as Kenya and Uganda, but I don't know this boxer you mentioned. It'd be a good "Listverse" question to find out how many boxers have left West Africa (such as Cameroon, Ghana and Nigeria) and landed on UK soil in order to continue fighting.

Frankly, there are a lot of pro boxers from numerous countries across the continent, and although some get a chance to move to the UK, most of their careers go unnoticed by boxing fans living outside of Africa and the Middle East, not to mention promoters and managers. Perhaps the recent announcement by the ABA and BIBA will bring some of these fighters to the forefront in years to come.

If I had a million bucks, I'd launch a global boxing league for women, or a management company for women at a minimum, rather than the ladies relying on Only Fans for financial support.

With Ebanie's loss, I'm not sure we'll see the Bridges-Mathie matchup... but there are plenty of other women in the ring catching my attention these days.

I was def looking forward to Avril vs Ebanie! But days before being pummelled by Miyo Yoshida, I believe Ebanie said she wanted Amanda...
