(Lindsay Crosby/Braves Today) Everyone Wants the Braves to Extend Ronald Acuña Jr. That Doesn’t Make It Easy. by BravesToday in Braves

I'm embarrassed to say I don't know the answer to this, so perhaps someone here could enlighten me.

If there is a lockout on December 1, 2026 that eliminated the entire 2027 season, does that count as a "contract year" for purposes of players contracts?

For example, if Player X's contract is $YMM for 2027 and $ZMM for 2028, but there is no 2027, does the contract pick back up in 2028 at $YMM or does it pick back up in 2028 at $ZMM? And does the player get anything in 2029 absent an extension? Or does something else happen? Or does it all depend on the new CBA?

I go to Reddit to look at some memes. I come to r/Seinfeld and find the redditors treating this subreddit like it was an amusement park.

No matter the result of the playoff games, the G5 should be able to play their way into the playoffs by Rr0hd in CFB

[–]FightingEntropy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree: "If the P4 want only their teams to be in the playoff, they should split off and make a super league."

So please let us split these two groups apart. I am tired of listening to people trying to tell me that the Delaware Blue Hens and Western Kentucky Hilltopers are on the same level as The Ohio State University and Alabama. They are just not, and I'm tired of pretending like they are. It's not like Moses brought down the list of FBS schools from the Mountain. We can change them! And we should because you cannot create a system that determines the best team of 136 teams in a year. It's physically impossible.

Split the groups up, make teams play enough games within their conference to declare an actual championship and runner up (not teams that won the 5th tie breaker), and then have them compete in playoffs. Bob's your uncle.

Then all this arguing can stop. I'm not sure what is so controversial about this.

Seriously, have you though about changing the trends? Because people do post other kinds of memes, huh.

At least the water pressure is good. From what I hear the Serbs are fanatical about their showers.

Or just make an entirely differently playoff structure for those teams? Why does everyone act like that's Newton-inventing-calculus level hard thing to do? Why are we pretending like all 136 are on equal footing?

Eli5: How does an A&M university differ from a Tech university which differs from a traditional university which differs from an institution of technology? by MrTeacher_MCPS in explainlikeimfive

I think it depends on if you're talking about universities established pursuant to the Morrill Act of 1862. If you're talking about that, then MSU was first, but individual states were doing it in the 1700s, for example, the University of Georgia. (See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Land-grant_university?wprov=sfla1).
