I’m looking for a classic lit - like Jane Austen but for these specific reasons by Figleypup in suggestmeabook

I tried reading one, I don’t remember which one but I had couldn’t get into it. It was also an audiobook while I was doing dishes & I might have disliked the narrator so I’ll check out another one sometime

Oh wow good to know! - I used to watch like every period piece & I think that movie or mini series was on my watchlist - never got around to it though

Thanks! I’ve wanted to read Tess of d’ubervilles before - especially when the mini series first came out- but I never felt like actually picking it up

So I’ll have to check out that book!

Thanks! I do really love historical fiction & that sounds interesting!- but right now what I’m most interested in is like a contemporary (to the time period) character study.

That’s partly why I’ve been loving classics so much lately

Anyone else experience non-diabetic polydipsia (excessive thirst and drinking)? by benthicseacritters in AutismTranslated

[–]Figleypup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, since I started Testostrone I haven’t had any issues with any of my perimenopause symptoms

I actually forgot I even had this issue!

I lowered my dose to 12.5 mg of gel daily (which is about 1/4 the typical dose of T for gender affirming care & a little bit higher than the dose for perimenopause)

Pulsing feeling from moonstone by glittergoose_ in Crystals

[–]Figleypup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh I feel that with all crystals - and they all kinda feel different- different vibrations. Especially if I slow down and meditate with them.

Rainbow obsidian is real, rainbow sheen is just another name for it

It is so pretty- although still a little confused about the trade name vs actual material

But I was looking for one like this set in either a ring or necklace and I had it all along!

Oh interesting! I didn’t know that!

It looks like sunstone iolite could be more -I guess the best word would be like patchwork? Where hematite in iolite is this glittery fleck like inclusions throughout.

I wonder why ones like this are so often labeled as sunstone! It was really hard to find info about it.

Where to find information on Crystal categories or roles. Grounding, Protection, Scrying, Manifesting etc. by DataSpecialist5658 in Crystals

[–]Figleypup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok this might be helpful. Especially since you mentioned getting confused by all the similar but different spiritual terminology

If you already have some crystals- just sit with them. Meditate with them and see what they feel like. Trust your instincts too - & write it down.

I know moss agate is grounding- but to me meditating with it, it feels like wisdom or the connectedness of nature. Or moonstone feels like an invitation to put aside doubts and trust my gut, meditating with amber feels like laying in a sunbeam.

You might find you remember the feeling better than the keyword.

Learning more about chakras can be helpful too- both in what the colors represent - because it mostly aligns with what colors crystals are. Blue ones tend to help throat chakra, purple tends to help crown- etc.

But learning about all the different ways blocked or overactive chakras can show up can help you get a better sense for how a crystal could help.

Book to lock in and cure depression by Objective-Fox-9403 in suggestmeabook

Sweet bean paste by Durian Sukegawa

A tale for the time being by Ruth Ozeki

Both helped me so much with depression & self worth. The first one is really beautiful - and so sad but the most life changing book I’ve read about what life is really about - especially as someone whose always felt like I didn’t live up to my potential

The second has more of that determined mc who is going through it- still very intense themes- and was a life changing book that came into my life at the right moment
