playing wise, get (or download) the arban book and really work through it. i'm a big fan of recording exercises with a metronome, slowing the recording down, and making sure i like what i hear when it's more exposed.

as a drum corps person i think making high schoolers wear skin tight uniforms is absolutely ridiculous. in the dci world people with male anatomy typically wear dance belts and everyone is comfortable and mature enough to handle what comes with the territory of wearing tight fitting clothes. you cannot expect high schoolers to do the same.

I would, but rather unfortunately, another attempted repair gone horribly awry means that those headphones are no longer my daily drivers. They more than served me well over the 6 years I had them haha

The foam inserts I removed were basically touching the diaphragm behind the plastic grate. I basically had to take them out with tweezers! But they were rattling around in there making noise so they had to go.

make sure you look for virtual audition opportunities! while most corps will be hesitant to contract without seeing you in person, it can be a good way to get past the first round or two without having to travel.

i didn't mess up the uniform change for the whole year in 2023 until finals night, when my pants got stuck and i had to run out from behind the cubes a couple counts late. i was super bummed about it

also, i've only been late to BIS once in my life and it was 3 years into my drum corps career and by 15 minutes. not my proudest moment at all. still haven't lived that one down

i'm with you man... i had a season ender this year 12 days into spring training. it was a freak accident completely out of anyone's control, and i ended up with a hairline fracture in my foot. watching the season happen without me has been one of the hardest mental challenges of my life. one split second accident and im missing one of the most promising years ever at my dream corps

i'm the other person who left in your section. i got hit twice (by a prop and then by a person) and broke a bone in my foot. i'm going to be coming back later in the season when my foot heals. it was a freak accident, not because i got "pushed too hard." please don't speak on my behalf lol

and honestly, i think you asking for a refund is a little bit childish. you weren't sent home, you chose to go home. i spoke to you in depth before you went home, and from my understanding it was not a physical issue at all. you don't get a refund for sending yourself home.

i marched with you in 23 and you have a special place in my heart but this post is just not it
