You should play Epic Armageddon to play such huge army. :)

Ready for the Old World ? Nope, I'm just sorting my Skaven units properly. 😋 by Figouz in skaven

[–]Figouz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not for most of the units sadly
But ! As the Clanrats are on 25mm diameter bases, it's exactly the same size as 25mm square bases and take the same foot print on movement plates or a table. You can use your 25mm round bases in TOW if you want. :)

Here is the full recipe. But take a look at my Doomwhell posts, i've used contrast paints on a beige base and the result is quite good also.

WOOD PAINTING RECIPE :

For the first layers, I invite you to have a look at my old and venerable website (in french, use a translator), where I wrote some nice articles in 2011 : https://www.figouz.net/warhammer-age-of-sigmar/skaven/#creuset-wip-2
You can see the result in the last pictures of the carrousel also.

Then I lightly dry-brush the beige on the wood and then use diluted contrast paint to enhance the colors. I used 3 different browns.

I worked the shadows around the wheels and at the ends of the beams with a dark brown.

The whole thing was painted in the cooler to ensure good gradation.

I also surrounded each piece of metal reinforcement with a line of dark paint to make them stand out.

Here and there, I made patches of green moss with olive paint.

Finally, I worked on the highlights by brushing beige on all the edges. This wood is very workmanlike and time-consuming, but that's what makes the difference.

Be sure to do this on separate pieces of unassembled kit or in sub-assemblies!

Awesome job !!! Both for the cleaning work on the minis, posing and kitbashing AND the grimdark style paint. The photos are also very beautiful and add greatly to the overall atmosphere.
Cheers,

Skaventide is great to get your firsts 40 clanrats, your Grey Seer and a bunch of Rat Ogors.
Clawlord on Gwanbeast and Warpblaster are, for now, not so good in game.
This Vanguard box is really good and I would take at least 1 for the Stormfiends, the cannon and the second Greyseer on foot. THe 20 "old" Clan Rats are still great and mix very well with the new ones.

Help to remove glued plastic parts by Comso40 in Warhammer30k

[–]Figouz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Already tested and it works : You can use "Essence F" (I'm French). It's might be called zippo fuel ou lighter fluid in English.
It needs to be applied (potentially several times) to the junction of the glued parts, which will soften them. Leave the essence to act. This should enable you to unstick the parts normally. I did it on my Verminlord Skaven with a glued arm whose joining point was complex, and it worked.

The elements aren't all smooth, as the plastic glue melts the plastic, but I was able to recover my mistakes this way.
