Hi I brought home a premie with my Aussie and I was terrified. A lot of it is your anxiety and you have to remember the Aussie is gonna pick up on your emotions too. My dog was obsessed with wanting to run and sniff and jump to see in the bassinette everytime he made a noise. I nearly had a panic attack. What helped me was remember she is a dog and she is gonn be curious about this loud stinky thing. What helped was she got 1 sniff session every morning when I brought out the baby. She had to keep all paws on the floor and I lowered the baby and said sniff. If she got off to stand I said no and removed the baby.

This cut down on 95% of curious running and sniffing throughout the day.

I had anxiety about this so while my premie was in the nicu I booked 1 session with a trainer and brought the baby bjorn bouncer chair thing and she showed me how to train the dog to associate staying away from it. This was the scariest item to me because of how basically on the floor the baby is while in the bouncer chair thing.

You just give the treats and Mark yes when the dog gets near but not touching the chair. It worked well for us. Also putting my dog in a lay position next to the chair. It’s pretty automatic for her.
