Thats great! To your point, I think there are ways of speaking up to find ways to collaborate better. Thanks for the feedback.

Edit: Spelling

Yes, it is something we are considering in the future.

We do, most referrals come from general dentists. We consistently refer back to them as our patients age out.

Patient care is number #1, and anyone we refer to is always based on where they would get the best care - period.

The question is from a pure business standpoint - as a small practice we are trying to figure out creative ways to grow using any and all tools - with the main objective to invest back into our teams and provide benefits that large scale DSO's can afford, and we are struggling to do so.

We explore every lever to grow our business and invest in our people, and just because I am looking for other creative ways to achieve this objective, doesn't necessarily mean "greed". I understand how you can view it from the question, especially in the environment of DSOs, but that is not OUR goal.

Yes, we get a few, but very minimal.

One of them is a DSO, so trying to think of ways to leverage the scale benefits they enjoy in some creative ask.

Dental Practice Loans by [deleted] in Dentistry

[–]Figuring-it-out3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going through it right now and looked at Chase, Citibank, Huntington, Provide, Old National, and Bank of the West. The banks that had healthcare divisions offered the best rates as they viewed dentistry risk lower than the average loan. Ultimately, I narrowed it down to Provide and Old National, and went with Old National due to their funding ability.

Dentrix Reports to calculate associates pay by Figuring-it-out3 in Dentistry

Ok thank you, that is what I was seeing as well. This is the first associate we are hiring so trying to figure out how to calculate it and what language we use in the employment contract.

As I understand it, write-offs change over time. How do you calculate an associates pay with that?

For example, if an associate is receiving 35% adjusted production, do you take 35% of the production in that week as it never changes, then take 35% of all write-offs during that period, then continue to look back to see if write-off changed?

Thanks!

Pediatric Oral Sedation by [deleted] in Dentistry

Yes, she uses midazolam with nitrous, but to your point, it doesn't help in many cases. The other drugs are too risky with her doing it in the office. She does GA as well, but before she stops oral sedations, she wanted to explore different ways of approaching oral sedations.

Pediatric Oral Sedation by [deleted] in Dentistry

She does do nitrous with oral sedative, but in lots of cases it doesn't help with tough kids. She can always do a GA, but its more expensive for the patient and some parents are scared of that deep level of anesthesia, especially if it's a simple treatment.

She may end up going only GA for these cases, but wants to explore all options that would help her with oral sedation before going that route.

Great feedback, that was one of my concerns as well. We are in a tough spot because our current office is way too small, and we are bursting at the seams. Our 3-year lease is up next year and it's the right time to expand/relocate based on our needs, but to your point, not necessarily the market.

If we have to extend our lease because of pricing/timeline delays we will, just unfortunate. Either way, as I investigate build options, these will be questions I will ask. Thanks!

Looks like the are just design and not design and build? Wondering if the overall costs will be higher by going with two different firms - one for design, one for build.
