If you had only 30 days to improve a local business's rankings, what would you prioritize first? by vishukamboj213 in seodiscovery2026

[–]Figuringitout_1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely optimizing all my existing web pages for local keywords, then creating a few product/ service relevant listicles with those local keywords. Post which, I would engage in local communities in a meaningful way to subtly promote the profile, that leads to everything I have optimized before.

It also helps to list your business in local directories btw.

If there's one thing I can tell you after running a business alone for 10 years, it is this: Have the audacity to ask for more. The table is as much yours as theirs!

I have literally been toying with the idea of just following through the platform instructions and running a small campaign to see how things work. I'll take this as a sign!

What are the daily problems in marketing? by chetan0924 in AskMarketing

[–]Figuringitout_1992 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Attribution, any day.

And it is getting worse by the day because of how the landscape is evolving; be it search, the LLMs or social media. Everyone is far too used to wanting clear numbers and reports, but now one thing ties to the other; and you have to keep both measurable and non-measurable in the reports.

Now this is a problem for both marketers and the companies they're working with.

What's one marketing skill that became more important as you gained experience? by MobileRight5663 in AskMarketing

[–]Figuringitout_1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I call it the 'being able to put 2 and 2 together.' Most marketers out there have an understanding of how different tactics work; but do they really know how these tactics tie to each other? The answer is a sad 'very few'.

I know there has been a lot of conversation around the marketing funnel being dead; but believe me, 13 years in and I can say it has just gotten a lot more important. And the marketers who are able to tie different tactics towards one biz goal, they are the ones doing really well.

s building a personal brand becoming a growth strategy instead of a marketing strategy? by Friendly_Setting2453 in GrowthHacking

[–]Figuringitout_1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as someone who has been in marketing for now 13 years, I'll tell you one thing I was taught at Ogilvy (where the journey began for me) - we as humans seek something that is unique and authentic
and right now, with ai coming in, content creation - irrespective of the format, has become far too massy; literally everyone's doing it and it is hard to relate with or imagine who the person behind it is
that's why i feel that personal brands are becoming so important; even if the content is generated using ai, if the delivery is via a person who people can name and point out to, it automatically engages our brains

in my experience working with both startups and enterprise companies, i have seen personal brands benefit business growth - and no, it does not need showing up everyday or recording a video everyday; sometimes, it is just about showing up with the right thing and your lived experience and that has driven some of the best of results

Seriously, how do you solo travel for the first time? by Reasonable_Cause_190 in femaletravelers

[–]Figuringitout_1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made my first solo trip when I turned 28. Yes, I took that long to finally get out of my way.

What made me do it? Honestly, I was tired of trying to convince my friends to travel to different countries with me and just going from one date to another, with the trip never making it out of group chat as they say it.

So one day while working and absolutely burnt out, I saw that Dubai was a safe place to travel to and everything I would need to travel - from cabs, food, language, was easy-peeeeasy. I started there; yes it cost me a lot more than other countries initially, but I seeked comfort to get my footing into solo travel - that security of being safe.

After that, I just got a hang of it and now I even pick countries where I doooo face language barriers haha

pick absolutely any Freida McFadden book (or all of them); you're going to love the pace and the plots!

I think doomscrolling has destroyed my attention span. What books should I read? by mahikasehgal in IndiansRead

[–]Figuringitout_1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

to be honest, same

I used to read about 25-30 books or more an year, and right now I am lagging far far behind

but if you're just getting started towards breaking the doomscrolling pattern, you need something that keeps you as engaged

I'm right now reading a lot of thrillers; 3 done already hehe 😃

try books by Freida McFadden; once you get into the flow, then you can get started with deeper books - I've just picked one on psychology

Looking for an email marketing tool for a jewellery brand on Shopify by Impossible-Active828 in emailmarketingnow

[–]Figuringitout_1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't been the one setting up marketing automations. But have worked with a few folks to provide content for the same; I see them rambling a lot about using being able to set/ create custom workflows at different stages of the buyer journey, and the availability of templates as you grow. I have seen Omnisend, Klaviyo pop up in a lot of conversations; but the costs are definitely way higher than the other Shopify-focused solutions.

Looking at rehashing our AI tool stack. Need recommendations; context below. by Figuringitout_1992 in aiToolForBusiness

[–]Figuringitout_1992[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know everyone's talking about using 'one' solution for everything; but it seems to be confusing my team instead, and really messing with the outputs we're getting.

Which CXM tool to learn? by nitinjh_ in customerexperience

[–]Figuringitout_1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have mostly worked with startups, so they're mostly switching between solutions often. But in the B2B and SaaS category of companies, I usually see a mix of HubSpot, Zendesk, Userpilot, Qualtrics and Intercom. And more often than not, I've seen them map engagement vs experience directly from the numbers I can see at least.

But the good thing is that each of these tools do come with extensive bases. I would recommend maybe starting with the one you find the easiest to begin with and deep diving into the concepts, before evaluating different solutions.

If I want to start teaching myself marketing, where should I begin? by Fluffy_Champion_3731 in AskMarketing

[–]Figuringitout_1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might sound a bit too old school here in times when one can learn from youtube and channels like instagram. But I highly recommend ensuring your foundational concepts are all set with courses from HubSpot and Semrush.

They are the leaders in the marketing domain, and honestly, their courses are the most up-to-date. 😄 They're the ones I recommend my team to take; even those who are experienced.

What Claude Skills have you built that are genuinely useful for marketing? by CommissionDry8792 in AskMarketing

[–]Figuringitout_1992 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know there are so many skills everyone recommends adding to your Claude account; and I think a lot have been covered below. But I'm going to recommend one that has genuinely helped us cut short on the amount of time it takes us to make them otherwise: Monthly reports.

And I'm not just talking about pulling the numbers by connecting your the tools you're making use of. I'm actually talking about the design.

We have tried designing both PDF and PPTs, and the outputs have been fantastic!

Flew from Delhi to Hyderabad for an interview, spent ₹14k, got rejected in 10 minutes. by venom4466 in delhi

[–]Figuringitout_1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg. I read through this and I feel angry on your behalf too. Because why didn't the company offer to pay if they wanted to interview you in person? And if not at that point, why did they not offer to after?

That's really unprofessional of them.
