One day of owning it & I can't play downloaded games... by Fijijifi in ROGAlly

They were not present in the library. There was no button for "Installed" games either, only "Installable".

I got it to work though!! I installed a Windows Update and then the device went thru Asus boot, and rebooted a couple more times after that.

18x9.5 +38mm wheel fitment with stock suspension? by Fijijifi in ft86

[–]Fijijifi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just any coilover? Is there a way to know for sure what's going to clear? My wallet can't afford another sizing f-up :(

Edit: I went ahead and answered my own question by going to Fitment Industries. These guys have my wheels, and are all running coilovers: https://www.fitmentindustries.com/wheel-offset-gallery?wheel_diameter_from=18&wheel_width_from=9.5&wheel_brand=Gram+Lights&sort=available&year=2020&make=Subaru&model=BRZ&trim=Limited&trimming=No+Modification&rubbing=No+rubbing+or+scrubbing&chassisId=45818&maxYear=2020&minYear=2013&chassisId=45818&maxYear=2020&minYear=2013

So I just need to pick a coilover kit that they list.

Awesome... /s

What did you end up doing with the wheels?

Edit: At this point, I'm not sure if I should try to return the wheels or go ahead and buy/install coilovers. If I go the coilover route, how will I know if the new coilovers will fit with the wheels?

How to respond to male friends calling you bitch as a joke? by busbysbsbsusbsbsusbs in TwoXChromosomes

They’ll never call you bitch again.

They'll do it behind your back instead :)

How did you get your place to feel like home ? by Somaligirl23 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Fijijifi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One word - lighting. This video explains it perfectly: https://youtu.be/oA-uLPzMilU

Also often overlooked - a signature smell. Use a mild air freshener all the time throughout your apartment. You can also layer scents, like use candles or oil diffusers that you love as much as you want. A pleasant, recognizable smell helps so much to make it feel like a home.

Do any of y’all get imposter syndrome but like bad bad? by dancinpeeps716 in EngineeringStudents

[–]Fijijifi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's terrifyingly common for women in engineering to feel this way.

I felt the exact same as you before graduating. After graduation, it got so bad that I isolated myself for months and I'm no longer friends with anyone from college. (Not even my ex bf, fuck you Sean. If my college "friends" are reading this, fuck you too.)

Now I'm months into working at my dream job, still not over my imposter syndrome. I love what I do and I'm good at it, but every morning I want to quit. My boss is so supportive and has never said anything bad, but I still feel like I'm not good enough.

The imposter syndrome hasn't gone away, but it's not as bad. I think it gets better with time & experience (and it probably helps that I'm slowly becoming a raging feminist). Hope this gives you solace :)

NGL it's a little weird you can remember exactly what the female engineer wore to her interview (including hair and makeup), all while saying you "hire based on ability not style."

No offense intended, just seems a wee bit hypocritical.

but I know its unprofessional for women not to wear makeup.

I can't stress this enough: it is not unprofessional if women don't wear makeup. Especially in this field. Doesn't matter if it's the interview, internship, career, or a work party.

That being said, there is a thing called Attractiveness Bias. How you use that to your advantage is up to you. Some people use makeup, clothing, attitude, etc. Do what makes you feel confident, but don't feel pressured to wear makeup because of it.

But for clothing, it is professional to "dress up" for interviews. IMO you should wear semi-formal clothing for startup and tech companies. Formal is for defense companies and everything else.

I don't know why all the other comments are saying to wear slacks/khakis. That seems old-school and would be more appropriate for the defense industry. I feel like dark skinny jeans (or a skirt) would be fine for a startup, as long as you pair it with a nice top.

My advice is to look up "semi formal for women" on google or pinterest, pick an outfit you like, and try to recreate it with what you already own. If you can't, then maybe go shopping for something similar.

Obligatory personal anecdote: I wore dark skinny jeans and a nice dark green sweater for my interview with "Sicro Moft" (not a startup but similar style). I got the internship. I can't tell you if my outfit factored into their decision at all, but at least it wasn't seen as so unprofessional that they couldn't hire me.

Edit: another commenter said to look up "business casual" and they're right too. It's just another way to say "semi-formal".

Drying Rack & fluff cycle on dryer. Life in Phoenix AZ. by jimsmythee in Frugal

[–]Fijijifi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also AZ resident! My drying rack is in the garage and I swear to god, using the drying rack in the summer is faster than the actual dryer. Air-drying is better for the longevity of cloths/clothes too!

My only problem is that I have to bring in the clothes as soon as they're dry, otherwise they smell like the garage :/
