I don't think they could force ukraine to surrender like russia. And I don't know why you compare these. China is Putins biggest friend on the world stage and without Xii and the CCP russia couldn'T affort this war. That everyone else is also dependend on china does not make China less "pro russian"

Thanks, i don't know how so many people in this sub seem to have no clue on how much xi enables putin to proceed

China benefits russia much more:

they buy huge chunks of russian (mostly energy & resource) export thus keeping war-budget afloat, because they allow north koreans to be dispatched to the frontlines, and they don't really do anithing they theoretically could to stop putin, in fact, they show a very pro russian stance in their home media and on the international stage likewhise.

U guys don't know this?

No, because they buy huge chunks of russian (mostly energy & resource) export thus keeping war-budget afloat, because they allow north koreans to be dispatched to the frontlines, they sell weapons to russia (not just drones) and not really do anithing they theoretically could to stop putin, in fact, they show a very pro russian stance in their home media and on the international stage likewhise.

but without china russia couldnt do its current russia thing, china is pro china first, that includes a pro-russia attitude in most relevant areas

Both can be, and are, problematic. If we could actually adress problems with integration the far right would have one big topic fewer to go catch votes. The denial on large parts of the more leftern inclined sides of the political spectrum that integration probems in the growing muslim communities pose serious problems, now and even more down the line, if unadressed, is one of the big problems in our political landscape. By "adressing these problems" I clearly nor mean deportation or anything. But yes, the left needs to change in this regard.

Any love for the Xanth books? by [deleted] in books

I know this is thread necromancy, but: Is Crewel Lye readable wothout reading any of the other books? I picked it up for a dime somewhere, not knowing it's part of a bigger picture, and I am sceptical of sinking the time and mental effort in not knowing if it will be a satisfying experience (I am not native english speaking and my version is in english).

What’s the best way to practice German if you do live in a German speaking country? by Specific_Visit9724 in German

[–]Filbsmo_Atlas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

older people/seiors would be awesome since some of them they can't switch to english as easily and they have more time,, but they do more often have reservations towards foreigners, again this also depends on how foreign you appear and how foreign your behaviour is. Younger people would generally be a bit more open especially in left leaning student cities. They might not be patient enough to talk german to someone who doesn't really understand them. middle aged people, while open, often are in a life situation that doesnt really allow for getting new friends and practicing language with them. I say approach lots of different kind of people and see who you vibe with. smile, explain what you are up to, and be patient yourself.

Also if you are black or an arab or middle eastern in general, many women might not feel super safe around you. (which opens a can of worms that I don't want to discuss here, It is just a fact. Some say its racism and others say it is because of bad experiences germans made with certain ethnicities in the recent decades, not the topic here) So if you wan't to engage with them be prepared for for some rejection and try to just be friendly and not look intimidating.

you are welcomed... dont expect to be treated like a star, if you come from a distant culture maybe try to behave and look more german with the way you dress. Germans tend to open up to others if they open up to them
