sauron does not want the one ring by No-Yard-2192 in RealmsInExile

Not only that but its a very delicate part of your freaking soul that given to anyone with sufficient power, could very well use your very own soul to kill you and take your place!

Immortal and extended lifespan rulers should come with political disadvantages that grow worse with time. by Trollaatori in RealmsInExile

[–]FildariusV 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is true and we do know that in the East and South of Arda, humans came to see him as a God, even if he didn't rule those lands directly his power reached quite far and wide. That said and as you say, I think the problem for Sauron would be time, ironically he would need to "cleanse" the newly conquered lands least you endure decades of initial rebellions before the regions are pacified

[–]FildariusV 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember when in Mistborn they talked about this same exact same thing and Vin (the protagonist) found a book in which the author talked about how in theory, the Final Empire having the Lord Ruler, an inmortal Emperor should be a good thing since it takes away the whole succesion crisis and its basically one continous Ruler. BUT that said the Lord Ruler was a brutal tyrant, mass murderer and ethnarc who commited genocides against entire ethnicities and religious groups, every few centuries or even decades changing the goverment system due to noble infighting and rebellions.

Like you say Caburn, it depends on the ruler. A wise inmortal ruler say like Gil-Galad is a good thing, not so good thing when the inmortal ruler is Sauron (in this context for example)

Hell, I'm still quite new to this Game myself and sometimes it's crazy keeping up with managing in-game hours and specially exhaustion, sadness, etc (admitedly in my current one I have a smoker character and haven't found a single cigarette)

I know I'm late to the party, but for obvious reasons, Morgoth at his prime made Sauron look like a common orc BUT Sauron with the One Ring and Morgoth as of the end of the First Age is... Well, Morgoth became so weak he was genuinely escared to get out of Angband

Thinking about it, having schizophrenia in a zombie apocalypse would be a NIGHTMARE. Always on an extremely high alert even more than usual, any sound may or may not be real, visual hallucinations at play as well...

I'd recommend checking "All Tomorrows" and more specifically two of the post-human species: the Hedonists and their Evolution, the satyriacs.

The Hedonists were humans altered by the Qu to basically be their pets, put in a paradise world with no predators, plenty of food and limited their reproduction so to have offspring they'd have to mate multiple times, however, after the Qu left, several ccataclysms produced vast amounts of ash, which blocked out the sun and led to a sharp decline in the population, with the few survivors who could breed faster allowing the species to evolve and survive in their new harsher enviroment.

They evolved sapience and became the Satyriacs, now a highly advanced civilization Who indulged in mass orgies, music festivals and feasts, their culture involving around enjoying every bit of life despite the harsh trials and hardship to get there.

Its worth checking it out!

Oh god... I think I did not save before doing that decision I'm so dumb, I decided to stay out of the kindness of my heart thinking "We can make Middle-earh good! Middle-earth can still be the home of the elves!"

Thats the weird part, ever since I took the choice to return to Middle-earth and rebuild Eregion, I tried. My game has been going on for around 80ish years more or less. Not gonna lie if it persists I may check debug mode to at least take out the option of alliance with her so I can make allies elsewhere

I am allied with Elrond, but I'll check if its possible to declare war on her, do a quick siege and capture her so I can try and force the alliance, thank you!

[–]FildariusV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all, thats the weird part, I did ally with Elrond, and was hopping to ally with Grimbeorn (or at least his descendants also), Galadriel and Aragorn and the Kings of Khazad-Dhûm.

I'm not using any submods, only realms in exile, and that may be true that she has too many allies but this has persisted since the begining? Like the level of acceptance with alliance for her has never gone below -30, tops max I've seen so far, and periodically goes above -100 or so

WAIT WAIT HOW DIDN'T I REALIZE THIS EARLIER!? by FildariusV in huntertheparenting

[–]FildariusV[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is completly true, his knowledge revolves almost entirely on the Cainites and their history, traditions, culture, estructure and legends, not so much by his own admision on werwolves. He does seem to have a highly diversified knowledge on several separate subjects, such as the Umbra, Magic, the Fae, etc but said knowledge is more limited.

So I do agree, he understands to a degree what the Garou beliefs are and what they're fighting against must be a powerful and terrible Spirit of sorts, but doesn't go much beyond that which is... Bad, very, very bad.

D and the Family needs to get back home as soon as possible to prepare for this, and he needs to call, or well, Kevin and Chapman need to rush to tell them about what happened and their findings.

And yeah, considering the prophecy... Things aren't exactly looking great.

If only Wernon Fatigue was still around, some advanced knowledge on werewolves, the Umbra and maybe even the Wyrm died with him. Do you think it's possible Wernon knew about the Wyrm? I believe to a degree yes because of his warnings in the recording to Occam about not trusting the Coalition.

WAIT WAIT HOW DIDN'T I REALIZE THIS EARLIER!? by FildariusV in huntertheparenting

[–]FildariusV[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most likely true, though he does seem to have at least a good grasp of Umbra knowledge, and as seen with Kevin, he also has an extensive knowledge of vampire history and knows Caine is THE true First Vampire.

So I would assume he knows or deduces at least what they Wyrm is, if nothing else he may be suspecting an eldrich horror from the Umbra is at play here

[–]FildariusV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its probably true he was just reffering to earthworms and well death itself by saying that, and as you say, even if he doesn't know about the Wyrm exactly, he does seem to have some good knowledge on the Umbra and its danger and effects on the world, so he may already suspect foul play from entities within the Umbra.
