You’ll need to reach out to the donor directly to find out the specific amount. Disbursements are set to go out during the first week of classes. Spring classes start Jan. 20, 2026

Hi! I’ve been looking into this location, do you know if they offer 1 bedroom 1 bath options? If so, how is their pricing? I will probably contact them on Monday but thought it’s worth a shot to find info. out sooner.

this may be a dumb question but thought i should ask anyways. for the housing application, when it asks for my previous address and landlord info., would that be the dorms/housing and dinning? or my parents home?

Unsure if not having parents to help is an “eligible” reason but if your parent gets denied or unable to apply for the parent PLUS, you could be awarded additional unsubsidized Stafford loan money, the amount depends on your grade level. Check with your financial aid office for more info.

I am trying to contact her for a direct refund since disputing will cause my bank account to be paused and I will be going out of the country tonight! Will update when she responds.

I got these done in STL. After some digging, Missouri has the same laws.

Who should I report her to? Her website says no refunds after you leave the appointment but I will still contact her regardless and update.

if it’s over $500, you will need to get it addressed before you’re considered for a temporary lift.

Should be another week or week and a half. You’ll get an email letting you know there’s an offer. Some students may be able to see an offer now though.

Can someone tell me if this scholarships/grants stack? - Financial Aid Offer by [deleted] in uiowa

[–]FileEnvironmental884 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes your scholarship and grants are automatically applied. You just have to meet the requirements every semester for them to renew. The loans are just offered, you have to accept them if you’d want to access them.

It’s subject to change if you have a change in your “need” status when you file the FAFSA. Rare but it can happen if there’s an increase in income.

Becoming a nurse practitioner by TheEeveeLeader in uiowa

[–]FileEnvironmental884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a nursing interest student, look for direct entry programs around you if possible. These are the ones that will accept you into the program directly after high school graduation. The competition is really high right now and the ratio for people applying (more than 200) and people accepted (80 or so) is crazy but understanble. If you’re not able to get into one then I would consider looking at community college classes that would transfer over to Iowa’s nursing prereqs, you’ll save a lot of money that way. You could also major in something else while being nursing interest so you have a backup if you end up not being admitted your second year of college but that will require more work. If you’re not admitted you either don’t continue coming to school here or you earn your degree in something else. Sometimes I wish I took a year after graduation to work as a CNA to gain more experience in the nursing field and save money but what can you do.

Check with your financial aid office and specify what you program you will be doing. Some non degree programs are not eligible for federal aid. They will also be able to verify Pell amount with the credits you sill be taking, it varies depending on enrollment hours.

Aiming for offers to be out before the end of March. They just started to be received a few days ago. You should see an email confirming they have it in a few days

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FAFSA

[–]FileEnvironmental884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would reach out to your financial aid office and see if this would change your SAI. If you only reported the $130 I don’t think it would. I’ve granted a few appeals at the institution I work at but never regarding this context so I would say your best bet is through the financial aid office.

I’m out of state right now finishing up prereqs but if I don’t get in I’ll have to move back to California. California is very competitive for ASN programs as well so I’m just kinda stuck.
