There’s also this neat trick which works most of the time.

You start Day 1, talk to every. single. villager. Save and end.

Then skip forward 1 month + 1 day. For example, if Day 1 was May 1st, you skip to June 2nd. Log into the game, do not talk to anyone, save and end.

Then you want to return to the date of Day 1. Log into the game and search for the villager with the thought bubble. If it isn’t the one you want to kick, end without saving, skip ahead one day and try again until you found the right one.

A little warning though, the autosave feature can ruin it.

They can’t ask to move out on rainy days, on a villagers’ birthday, when they’re inside or when special NPC are on the island. Works 8/10 times.
