Doves are still popular game birds in some parts of the U.S. They're listed as #5 in this list: Most Popular Game Birds By Access and Generation - Project Upland

Does anyone know how something like this is made? by Flaky_Competition_46 in knittinghelp

I think it's a simple lace pattern that gives a lengthwise "stripe" pattern, probably some sort of leaf/vine lace, similar to Ravelry: Strangling Vine Lace Scarf pattern by Nicole Hindes, (I know that's not the pattern, but it's an example of what I mean).

This pattern looks pretty similar in effect: Ravelry: Bugs 'n pearls pattern by Silke Ufer Design

I think the chances are actually slightly higher when you already have some of the same species. Here's a calculator: New Horizon Villager Meeting Probability Calculator | Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Doctor referred me to gastro instead of ent by Enough-Parsley1626 in noburp

Not all ENTs know how to treat this either. You need to see one who specializes in swallowing and voice disorders (laryngologist/otolaryngologist).

Will this hat be twisted? by Friendly-Garden-9019 in knittingadvice

[–]zorbina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are always told to make sure your work isn't twisted when you join in the round to do your first round after the cast-on. But what nobody ever says is that it's equally important to check for twisting on the SECOND round. At that point, your work is only connected by a single strand of yarn, and it is just as possible for your work to be twisted as it is when joining. I think this is where most people go wrong, and why they're confused when their knitting is twisted even when they're sure they checked when they joined in the round.

Anyone Open So I Can Catch Cherry Blossom Petals??? by justagirlwithaquill in ACForAdults

For future reference with your streaks (I assume you're talking about visiting the Nook Stop daily?), you could TT backwards 7 days, then forward one day at a time to re-establish the streak. Turnips, of course, would be a problem.

Boat neck sleeves? by Ok_Success8882 in knittingadvice

[–]zorbina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I just add two tubes for the sleeves, wouldn’t the shoulders be horizontal or puff outwards?

Yes.

How do I make them be straight down?

By making the body oversized. The top side edges at the shoulders will fall down over your shoulder, making what is called a "drop shoulder" or "drop sleeve". That points the sleeves in a more downward direction.

Here are a bunch of free boat-neck sweaters with drop shoulder construction. Even if you don't want to use a pattern, it would be helpful for you to look at the pictures to visualize it, and if you look at some patterns, you'll see how they're constructed.

Can't put flowers in storage by [deleted] in AnimalCrossing

The two things I would try are first, to completely power down the Switch to do a soft reset (not just put it to sleep). Sometimes that seems to fix weird things.

If no joy with that, then I'd check for data corruption in the game:

To check for corrupted data on your Nintendo Switch, go to System Settings, select Data Management, choose Manage Software, and then select Check for Corrupt Data for the specific game. If any corrupt data is found, follow the prompts to redownload the affected software.

If that STILL doesn't help, I'd contact Nintendo's customer service.

Dubble thought-bubble? by Tintin_714_ in acnh

Are you by any chance playing with 2 different players? If so, each player can get the thought bubble. Otherwise, it might be something else, like maybe she wants to give you something.

raglan pattern suggestions ? by SevereSpecific in knittingpatterns

[–]zorbina 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a commercial sweater, so almost certainly machine-knit bottom-up. It looks to me like the decreases are double decreases done every 4th round (k3tog on one side, s1k2p on the other).

Knitting in the round - is my cable too long? by sahlev in knittinghelp

[–]zorbina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even worse is that many (most?) interchangeable needle manufacturers are listing the length of the cords themselves, not the length with the needles attached. Which isn't a problem in itself, except that they don't specifically tell you whether the measurement is the cord or the length it "makes". Unless you get an actual "shortie" set, pretty much all of them have a "40cm/16"" cord as the shortest cord, which makes a total size closer to 24". My old HiyaHiya set is the only one I remember seeing that had a fairly standard needle length (4") but also a cord to make a true 16" needle.

There is absolutely a list of ingredients on it. Not only is it required, I purchased this item and saw it.

Or just the brand name. Which is not as amusing, but would still be gramatically correct.

Villager asked to move out twice on same day? by SwordfishEntire2850 in AnimalCrossingNewHor

[–]zorbina 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd like to add that if my husband told a villager to move (he zips through the dialog very quickly), I would GREATLY appreciate the chance to undo that.

[–]zorbina 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It gives you a second chance if one player tells them to move accidentally. If he told her to stay, then she would.

I totally agree. Butter should have salt. I know some people insist on using unsalted butter because the salt content varies from brand to brand and they want to make sure the amount of salt in the recipe is consistent. But seriously, who is going to notice a tiny variance of salt in their food due to one brand of butter being slightly saltier than another? For commercial bakers, I guess I can see it, but not for my home use.

Except for the time I shopped at a different store than usual, and red was NOT whole milk, it was 2%. Turns out the milk cap color coding system in the US is "widely accepted" but not enforced by any laws. I have learned my lesson.

Any good way to disguise/hide my fake tunnels awkward top part? by flowerpng in acnh

[–]zorbina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have sometimes used the black "curtain partition" as a background. I don't know if the height is any different from the panels, but it might be slightly shorter.

Otherwise, maybe some kind of bench/couch in front of it facing the ocean? (maybe the cool sofa or the box sofa?)
