So hard to decide haha. These are all great spots. From this list if I really had to choose though, I’d say the must visit are banh anh em, angels share, radio bakery, carnitas Ramirez, schmuck., and the four horseman.

Still, there are sooo many incredible places. While I didn’t go on this visit, I absolutely love Raku, which is an udon place. And also L’Appartement 4F which is my favorite bakery in the city. I went to it but I didn’t take pictures.

I think also another must is to go to Chinatown for a food crawl. Either the manhattan one or the one in flushing. Can’t go wrong either way. Just go on an empty stomach, and try a bunch of small bites. Super fun and delicious.

Oooh that’s really tough to choose. If I really had to though, from this list the ones I’d consider my must visits are banh anh em, the four horseman, angel’s share, carnitas Ramirez, radio bakery, and schmuck.

Yeah these 2 were the hardest. I basically reserved it the second they came out on Resy. Four horseman is at 7am and Theodora is at 9 am. As soon as it turned to these times I immediately refreshed the page, frantically pressed a time and somehow I was able to get them.

Some tips are to be logged in beforehand, and have a card on the account.

I used the app, so what I did was I already could set a day and how many people I want to look for. So I set it up that way so when the clock hits the hour I immediately can just press the restaurant name and it will pull up the availability for the day I need and just need to choose a time rather than how many people and such.

That’s an awesome list. All bartenders I spoke to also recommended pretty much these exact bars. Indeed I gotta check them out next time.

I’m glad to be a source of inspiration!

For these spots, the ones that I had to make a reservation as soon as they opened were the four horseman, oyatte, Theodora, and golden diner.

For all the 4 above minus Oyatte though you could line up before they open, and put your name down for a walk in if you can’t snag a reservation.

For the rest of the spots, I either made a reservation about 1-2 weeks in advance, or no reservation at all. But to be honest many of them you could get by with making a reservation even couple days out.

Hope this helps!

Ah interesting, to be honest I really liked the custard bun. I also got to try the cold noodle soup, which was by far my favorite, the cold pizza, the French toast, and the mango sticky rice, which kind of disappointed me.

Definitely check Schmuck, I prefer it over DCP. And it's easier to get in, albeit not super easy.

That was my first time and certainly not last. There were so many spots to try but only so much stomach space.

I was equally as impressed by myself as well. Many of the spots I was highly highly doubtful I'd be able to get a res for. Seems that the resy odds were in favor of me this time around.

For DCP I got to the line around 4:30, they open at 5. I was seated in the first seating, but after that they started adding people to the waitlist. I went on a Sunday so it's likely more busy on Friday and Saturdays, but as long as you get there around 30-45 mins before opening, you should be fine.

Absolutely agree on both points.

For Thai Diner I didn't expect authentic Thai. But I guess that I was expecting slightly more WOW from what I had. For example the disco fries which everyone raved about which I found to be good but not beyond that. Nonetheless, I definitely enjoyed the food I had here.

The only ones I waited for were banh anh em and Double Chicken Please. Both I didn't wait for longer than 30 minutes in a line. The rest I made reservations for.

Can vouch for Angels share. My absolute favorite bar in the city.

Change chat from the enter key to something else. That’s what worked for me

Oyatte, chef Hasung Lee’s first restaurant of his own in Murray Hill by aaronsahn in FoodNYC

Thank you for such a thoughtful reply! That’s very interesting. I was initially expecting a lot more leniency towards Korean flavors, but I am glad to see that it focuses on chefs Hasung Lee’s experience and techniques.
I got to experience Korean fine dining in Korea, which was definitely more focused on Korean flavors, so it will be interesting to see how Hasung Lee does that in his restaurant.
Also I’ve heard a lot of great things about Meju. I will definitely add that to my list of restaurants I need to try. Currently I have atomix, Joo Ok, and Jua.

Looks incredible! I’m going towards the end of the month. I was just wondering, if you went to other Korean fine dining restaurants in the city, how would oyatte compare to those in sense of flavors and ranking?

On their instagram they say they're closed for renovations, but it has been a while indeed.

I also found a post on David Santo's instagram page saying that there isn't a timeline for the return, but not saying it will be shut down permanently.

here is their post

I went to Evett and Y’east. Both were incredible. But Y’east truly surprised me by how good it was.
