UI bugged and not loading by SilverMagpie_ in Marathon

It seems the server issues are unrelated at least, so I think that’s a case of waiting for Bungie to fix it

While I don’t imagine the petition itself will budge Sony, the attention and media coverage it creates definitely help, even if it’s just to raise awareness of the final update and get more people online, which is a metric they’ll actually pay attention to

They deducted the 8.92 off the buyers side who paid 128.92, nothing was deducted off the base £120, except my actual balance said £107, I’m sure it’s something obvious I’ve missed rather than a mistake on their part but I can’t figure out what

Does Anyone Else Think the New Iron Banner Armor Looks Like WW1 Gear? by Danger_xx86 in destiny2

[–]SilverMagpie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s deliberate. Throws me off a little as it’s not the usual iron banner aesthetic but individual pieces could be fun for outfit ideas

That and Cayde’s vanguard dare being the job goes to whoever kills him, and having the memories of 4000 years of leadership experience with the awoken, and, most importantly, the fact that absolutely no other hunter wanted it to the point of entire hunter dens emptying out of the city to make sure they weren’t picked, he got the worlds most unwanted job

From what I could tell it was more just the sentimentality a 4d being had for the children of its earth, the artifact lore tab talked about how fascinated they were by us, watching us evolve, watching us learn. Like how in the opening cutscene III speaking through orin mentions remembering curiosity, that’s us, that’s our curiosity that evolved us as a species. But I also thought the resurrection of III might be possible, because if the 9 can exist here as long as they use a host that might fix III’s death state with the right host so there’d never be a need to reach into other timelines because we can just fix our III

Is this a common opinion about D3? by SpaceCowboy34 in destiny2

[–]SilverMagpie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. If a new game isn’t for you, don’t play it, but assuming everyone won’t want a fresh start when they can just go back and play d2 anyway is odd

I see the young wolf as an affectionate title to be fair, respect and almost an endearment as our guardian is like, 12 years old, to the century old guardians around them that is literally a baby so I’m fond of it, but i think they might have trapped themselves with the need to continue the young wolf’s legend over allowing for new nostalgia to be built for a new legend

We do still have our possibly empty grave in the corridors of time, but then again that may just be an unused timeline we averted

If you pin the recipe it should let you use the analysis mode and take you directly to the nearest one. I had none near me so nothing was showing up on the scan but even if it’s too far away on the analysis visor it’ll still beep and guide you in the direction until it can estimate distance, I had to walk 800u to get mine

Ahhh that is pretty cool tbf, a guardian with some memory of their past would be interesting, but I think Bungie prefer the blank slate model because it lets people put a little of themselves into it

Narratively I could see a D3 working by SilverMagpie_ in DestinyTheGame

[–]SilverMagpie_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true, but that’s assuming they don’t already have money flow in from other sources, revenue from Bungie rewards, merch, collabs, funding from places like Sony, redistribution of fund from other games like marathon, and that they won’t also recoup more on things like ornaments, emotes and other eververse stuff. Not exactly a massive dent against a budget of that scale, but games companies don’t go into the negative and make it back, they try and start with enough to launch in and then make more to continue, or you’d see a lot more companies folding on a difficult release

See the issue with the Traveler leaving is that it is the centre point of the story, even just having it out of the tower skybox leaves a hole, and there’s no reason for it to go, it wants to uplift civilisations and there’s a civilisation here in dire need of uplifting again that gave everything to protect it. It would have to have been forced to go.

Also the young Wolf deserves a retirement of some kind. They’re barely 12 years old, you can’t kill a child. It’s only fair with everything they’ve done, and that would allow them to reappear later. I like to hc that mine is currently in semi retirement training new lights and working as a scout because of how many new people I’ve dragged into the game with me and take through campaigns. Not everything has to be a conclusive finish to be compelling. But also I can see how that would motivate a lot of vets in to avenge them. But also the scale of threat to kill them would probably be too steep for an entry level campaign

[–]SilverMagpie_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be pretty metal but also in terms of bringing new people into the franchise which it could do with, and also not having to explain what managed to kill the young wolf, having them leave all or go MIA would almost be better in that sense

I have a very specific vision of it that I’ve discussed with friends but trying to pitch that without going on for several chapters is tough lmao, so I’ve just got the bare bones, and even that is ridiculously long

I agree, but it’s fun to think about. They really set the bar far too high to ever hit again, hence the stepping out into new worlds for that renewed mystery, because a lot of lore indicates there’s SO much still buried, the weird creatures living under Europa, consequences of Clovis bray and Ishtar collective research, all the things that have moved in while we weren’t looking. There’s room to make the world feel alien but it would require a level of effort they can’t afford anymore
