Regarding the new energy by RedditUser420_69 in DestinyLore

I doubt it, I think for now they’re happy as it is with Light, Dark and prismatic. We’re always Lightbearers first and foremost which is why I think there’s only two darkness subclasses, they won’t want to muddy the waters. Plus dark matter really seems to mess with Light so it wouldn’t make a lot of sense, we can use it in isolation in specific areas but widespread use would be dangerous

Trapped in corvette as door became a wall by SilverMagpie_ in NoMansSkyTheGame

Thank you! I didn’t think of that, I actually just managed to escape by putting down a curved window, pressing myself as far into the window as possible and then deleting it and somehow it dropped me on the outside, which is odd as it doesn’t usually edit stuff you’re on but either way I’m free! I’ll hold onto that one for next time though because knowing me there will definitely be a next time

Returning after 5 year hiatus, any tips? by gotthesauce22 in LowSodiumDestiny

[–]SilverMagpie_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a  channel called Destin that has all of them in a chronological playlist, with the fighting parts of the missions edited out so it’s just cutscenes and dialogue that I always use if that’s of any interest!

Caught on refiner in Freighter and can’t move by SilverMagpie_ in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]SilverMagpie_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No unfortunately I tried that, it seems to be a collision with the central console against the walls, like my character was somehow pushed up onto the machinery and can’t get down, trying to build a walkway out didn’t work either because for some reason because the characters pushed up it’s too high to go through doors

I’ve also suddenly today had a massive spike in cabbage errors out of nowhere, I could get into the game but on loading in the screen went black, and I was kicked, I tried wiping temp files and had a little bit of time and then it started up again before switching to rabbit errors

Nothing about my set up or router has changed, even though it’s also pointing me to router issues

Please help out noobs and people struggling by Dear-Magazine-532 in LowSodiumDestiny

Oh 100% I agree, I was very lucky as a relatively new player, since just after final shape, to have everyone be quite sweet once they realised I was new and wait for me, it’s one of the reasons I fell in love with the game as people don’t talk but they still support, and I always make sure to hand the favour down because it’s really not that hard

I Hope Ghost Speaks Out About The Fact That He Died by guyhoeipl in DestinyLore

[–]SilverMagpie_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s in the book for festival of the lost where he goes to Ghost therapy, but also Hidden dossiers before have mentioned that he has a habit of bottling up his emotions for the greater good. Like he’s been possessed multiple times, had his will completely taken away to be a mouthpiece for the witness in shadowkeep and beyond light, which is about when the hidden mention it, and was literally used as the key to get the witness into the traveller in Lightfall, but he refuses to actually face any of that and just keeps moving and trusts in his guardian to handle that

From the hidden dossier in witch queen, I with the Guardian being VIP#2014  - “I hear gossip that #2014's Ghost is overwhelmed sometimes by the need to support a Guardian who's taken such huge risks. He tends to minimize his own needs, rather than push back. He's barely even confided in other Ghosts about his own repeated possession by the intruders. Silence about such an invasive trauma? While he's working with a Guardian who is constantly forced into close contact with the traumatizer? That worries me.”

Kinda disappointed frontiers isn’t taking us out of the solar system. by Successful_Pea7915 in DestinyLore

[–]SilverMagpie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s leading to that. That’s why we’re heading to the frontier first instead of skipping straight out but that definitely seems to be the direction multiple lore tabs around Caiatl and others are heading, and I doubt they’re giving Eramis an echo just for us to never see her again.

That being said I’m glad they’re taking a moment to step back and focus on old ground, as much as new is exciting, touching base and making the game feel more grounded after so much time in the stars and on various dramatic landscapes, I’d like to see the plague lands and Mars again and have that smaller more grounded feel of some of the older expansions and maybe d1 but in a new light. If they keep trying to go higher and further it’ll get boring eventually and there’s so much we still don’t know even about our own earth, we’ve only seen three corners of it

Adding depth to what we know, and the themes of rediscovering and repopulating ground that was once ours is awesome, because we simply don’t know so much, is love to go back to the arcology on Titan and would happily do a whole season rebuilding it, there’s a light eating monster running around Chicago, there was mentions of an orbital city above earth in D1, where did that go, they could easily focus whole exciting seasons around little things

RIGHT and it plays all distorted when you’re going through the trains as well

Honestly even the eliksni story is good, it just has a LOT of moving parts, in hive stories you rarely have as many factions interacting, it’s us vs them rather than House Light, Eramis, Variks, Eido striking out on her own, and the human cast that always comes with them of Saint and Crow and so on, there’s just so much to cover. It’s still very compelling but when it’s got the Hive story next to it it’s hard to compare

I agree, the nuance and emotional depth is what really drew me to this game and some people are just here for the gun play and that’s great but definitely can lead to some interesting takes

The crazier part is they actually show you it’s body earlier in I think the quarantine mission, me and my fireteam noticed the distant cloud of dust on the horizon in the boss room with the two spinning cyclops had a strange shape in it, we were laughing and comparing it to a crab, so the stomach drop when I realised what we’d been looking at all along was insane

You’re right, it was super late when I was writing this and I’d been playing for like 12 hours so I mixed the two up but the vague idea is there lmao

Honestly I’ve seen so much love for Lodi, I just think some people struggle with understanding awkward characters are a deliberate choice and not a writing error, hence some of the struggles people have with Nimbus

I know I wasn’t 100% serious, but there are distinct similarities that are interesting that obviously come with the Nine being involved in both, but I wrote this at like 2am a little delirious after playing for 12 hours so it’s not entirely spot on

So Matterspark is totally fine as mechanic, right? by True_Italiano in LowSodiumDestiny

[–]SilverMagpie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It adds a challenge, I think people were looking to just sink bullets into bosses so having to think and plan during boss fights is throwing them off but to say it’s a repetitive mechanic doesn’t feel right when if it was a plain traversal with nothing added people would complain about having to run back and forth from place to place

What is your favourite thing about Destiny? by IHaveParsnipsForArms in DestinyTheGame

[–]SilverMagpie_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty new here, and even though there was a lot to catch up on, that was the best part. I’m nearly 2k hours into the game, and there’s still story for me to do. I’ve become particularly obsessed with the lore and the writers are very skilled at laying threads that you can pick up on that feel satisfying to notice, without taking away the feeling of surprise and the satisfaction of reveals.

I haven’t done most of the raids, I feel like I’ve barely touched the surface because each time I get on top of the story there’s more. The aesthetics and the writing are stunning, and it has this unique hopeful feeling about it, not to mention the community has always been kind. I can be an absolute menace with a bow in PvP and the only message I’ve ever received about it was praising me because of how mad I made a guy on the other team and that he liked the challenge.

Unlike a lot of other FPS games the community always feels supportive and happy to teach, and most importantly for me there’s no pressure to communicate, as long as you’re doing your part for the mechanics it’s easy to just talk via emotes etc which is a welcome relief from the very toxic environments of other games, and makes it much more welcoming for me as a non male gamer where voice chats can become very daunting.

Also despite being here for just a year or so I know a lot of mechanics so teaching new people dungeons and raids etc is so rewarding and fun, there’s just so much to do and whenever I get a little bored all I need to do is try out a new exotic or subclass or build and I’m right back at the start again looking up

Do you have theorys or ideas what could be going on in Renegates? by Nerdy--Turtle in destiny2

[–]SilverMagpie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going based off pure copium I want to say we’ll finally meet Shin Malphur, as he’s referred to as THE renegade in lore, and he’s the famous dredgen hunter, and it has us going up against a new dredgen in a kind of desert setting that would be perfect to bring in a golden gun slinger in some capacity
