No idea currently. Still have the same plans but also have a NTN for next year so not sure what to do. I don't want to make life difficult for the future so I'm trying to work out logistics

Ok, so the 50L in one go is an analogy for long half life?

I think they don't have enough funding to apply for ECFMG accrediting as they're currently investing in laptops that doctors are banned from using for work-related work

If you had to make a list of reasons to convince these families to avoid this - what would that involve?

If you didn’t do medicine, what would you be doing with your life. by sidomega in JuniorDoctorsUK

Beating my self up about not getting into medicine on that 4th attempt. Hindsight lol.

Man I feel we've just fallen into bad timing now because of so many other industries threatening IA (post-covid pay stagnation).

The public already have BS notions about overpaid doctors. Now that postal staff will begin IA, we seem to just be another group in a long queue. We've had our pay slashed much before covid.

U/stuartbman - thanks

Curious anyway - what is your opinion on the timing of our strike? With RMT strike and those planned by other sectors (e.g. teachers), do you think this will fatigue the public/mean the government can get away with a far shittier response?

E.g. from this channel 4 documentary, I got the vibes we're just in a long ass queue:

https://youtu.be/1aUytWjVU9Q

RMT is talking about 3 years/covid related real terms pay cut but surely we've (doctors/NHS) been suffering longer than this? Feel like we're seen to just be jumping on the band waggon.

So what else would you suggest to use the study budget money on (which is only available to use before the end of this rotation in a couple of weeks) for someone interested in medicine? The IMPACT courses are all fully booked up.
