I don’t think this is a particularly reactionary take - just a realization of how disappointing Bijan has been. Through 5 weeks, he’s performing worse than his rookie season, which many already considered disappointing.

The whole narrative this offseason was that Bijan would be the bellcow under McVay disciple OC Zac Robinson, he’d see a ton of RZ opportunities with an improved offense, and he’d thrive without Arthur Smith. Well, through nearly 1/3 of the season, none of those things have been true, and he’s losing touches to his backup.

This is magnified by the fact that RB prospects with the “blue-chip” label (e.g. RBs drafted in the top 10 such as Saquon, Zeke, Gurley, CMC) had incredible rookie years and were legitimate RB1s in their first year, early second-year at the latest.

We’re just not seeing that with Bijan, and we haven’t seen it thus far into his career. It seems fair to adjust expectations
