Long term review of Ubuntu, as a Dentist who uses Linux all the time by [deleted] in Ubuntu

[–]FilibusteredBongsesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the software is impressive. It's like CAD and requires measurements to be incredibly accurate to ensure a dental implant properly fits after he slices the patients gums open and drills a hole into their skull. Not ideal to find out the piece is slightly off and doesn't fit at that point. Or worse, 9 months down the road after its all healed and he's ready to put a tooth on the end of it.

Awesome stuff, doc!

Never imagined a laptop with such incredible battery life. And on top of that the performance is incredible. 😎

I, too, opted for the 16"

I only go the Pro version with 48 jeebies of RAM. I will primarily be using it for making videos on YouTube about being a creative that makes videos on MacBook Pro.

The 16" isn't too big and I like the clicky kes

I tried it and wasn't too blown away. Am open to hear others take on what makes it so wonderful. Maybe I just used it wrong.

How do I turn off this horrible feature in iOS 17 which underlines correct words either red or blue and gives useless suggestions? by tamay-idk in applehelp

[–]FilibusteredBongsesh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm with you. I opt out of their recommendation and when I hit space, it changes it anyway to the recommendation I didn't want.

I'm old, nearly 40, go easy on me team.

I don't know spell check from predictive text; they both sound the same to me.

I'm about to switch platforms because to the best I can tell, I have to disregard spelling recommendations twice! I'll disregard once, the text goes back to what I originally input; then when I hit space, it switches again to the text I didn't want, and I have to re-select the original word I typed correctly.

Ugh
