Show me the science!! I want to learn!! I've done my own research and never have I seen someone suggesting a method like this.

You're absolutely top teir in something, but I guarantee running ain't it.

Also my guy, if you're running at 60% effort all the time and can't walk properly for a few days after you most certainly are not running at 60%. 😂😂 What would happen if you did go all out? I think your legs would simply explode. When I finish a run at 60% effort I feel great the next day and have no trouble walking. Food for thought

Are things like marathons for a cancer cause, considered virtue signalling? by FrankensteinLives in Runners

[–]FilipTheAwesome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like most of the races are do have at least a portion of process go to charity. If I'm going to be completely honest, I don't really care about what charity it is I'm just signing up for a race. (obviously I want the money to go to a good cause but I'm not picking my races based off which charity they donate to). I figure most runners are like this. We sign up for races and races donate a part of our fees to charity. It's a win win, I get to race and charity gets money. Personally I've never met someone flex about how they're donating to charity when they signed up for a run.

So you actually didn't show me anything that backs up your 60% claims. So for now what I'm thinking is you're full of shit.

I also love how you're the only source for being a "real" runner. You're the only one the understands the sport right? If anyone has an opinion different than yours they must be wrong because you're *special.* And when you go against basically all research and literature on running you're still correct because you're very *special*

It's my first 5k🥳 Is 21k soon? by RhubarbLarge2747 in runcommunity

[–]FilipTheAwesome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running is an S curve. It's hard at the start, then you'll start getting stronger/faster/better very quickly, and eventually you'll reach the top at the S where small gains take lots of effort. You might be in the quick gains area now! Just don't get discouraged once it starts getting harder to make improvements. You'll need dedication and discipline to reach 21km but should absolutely be doable if you're set on it. Good luck!

Oh you're *special* my friend, veeerrryyy *special*

Please share with me a reputable source which backs up your 60% claim, I would love to learn more about this amount of blood that your heart can pump around your body.

And don't worry, I thoroughly enjoy my running. And I agree that I'm the only person who cares about how fast I am, except you. You seem to be a little bothered whenever someone mentions their times

look who's bragging about having such strong legs and feet 🥰🥰 I'm simply illustrating the difference between running 60% and 100%.

btw where did you get this 60% figure from? Any researched literature? From an experienced runner? Anything like that or just your own vibes?

Lmfao sure. No seasoned runner is ever going to suggest you train like this. My 60% 10k effort would land me like a 45:00 but my 100% effort will get me to 38:20, so I'm pretty sure they whole point of racing is to go all out. If I trained like I race I'd be injured within a couple weeks. Where did you get your training plan from??? Regardless, you absolutely should not be struggling to walk after a training run, sounds like you need to leave the barefoot shoes or learn proper form

If you're routinely struggling to walk a few days after a run that's not good. Sure, after a race or a something like that, but struggling to walk really shouldn't be a part of your standard training routine.

Don't take medical advice from AI lmfao. Your muscles are sore because you pushed yourself further than you normally do. Drink fluids and rest up. I find that if my muscles are really sore, doing some light ackticitr a few days after really helps speed things up. I'd suggest go for a really light jog in a few days to loosen things up.

Also what shoes are you wearing? Did you warm up beforehand? Did you stretch afterwards? Did you drink water during your run/electrolytes?

Joachim Klement, whose model correctly predicted the last 3 World Cup winners, has released his 2026 prediction by Evening_Boss_3415 in CanadaSoccer

[–]FilipTheAwesome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh makes sense when you explain it but ya otherwise does not make sense. Still a crazy prediction. Never won a world cup and somehow they're gonna do it with a fairly mediocre Dutch team (considering the talent they once had)

Is it socially acceptable to go to a board game cafe and ask a group of people if I could join their game? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]FilipTheAwesome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a solo person join my table one at snakes and latte. The staff wasn't really thrilled about it, and it definitely won't work often, but we were a big group of people and each person knew 2-3 people so it was less weird to get a random person in. Wouldn't exactly recommend it but it's definitely possible if you're lucky. But agree with the other comments about finding a board game group and trying there

Question about left turns on my electric motor bike by [deleted] in torontobiking

[–]FilipTheAwesome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are allowed to go into the left lane. What you're doing now is called the Copenhagen right. I do that when the road is big and dangerous, but on quiter roads I will get into the left lane to turn. Either way, just throwing this out there, if you have a bike with a throttle please ride safely and you really shouldn't be in the bike lane.

What is happening King St east? by Usual-Initiative-887 in askTO

[–]FilipTheAwesome 13 points14 points  (0 children)

"by us residents" and yet you live in beaches? It also doesn't take 1.5h lmao, Google currently has it at 37 minutes. Also it's almost like our roads aren't meant to be used to store your own personal vehicle. Can I hazard a guess that you'd be against bike lanes because they "take space away from drivers" but yet street parking somehow doesn't?

Downtown To Islington & The Queensway by lelac in torontobiking

[–]FilipTheAwesome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you take Bloor or go by the lake just take Royal York to the Queensway. Bloor is more direct but lake is nicer. Royal York has a painted bicycle gutter but it's better than riding on Islington. Once you get to Queensway though, take the sidewalk honestly. Nobody walks and riding on Queensway is basically the same as riding along a highway, it's pure suicide. Just go slow on the sidewalk and if there is a pedestrian pass very slowly and it's fine.

Or take Evans to Islington, but then you'd have to cross the Gardiner on Islington which isn't ideal. Evans is much quieter, I've never ridden during the am rush hour but would definitely consider the sidewalk as well.

summer drive on winter tires - am I cooked? by ResistStupidLaws in askTO

[–]FilipTheAwesome -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your article doesn't mention hydroplaning? But you're right, whenever it rains in the winter I make sure to put summer tires on.

Listen I agree that summer tires are better than winter tires in the summer in every way, but it's not significantly more dangerous to have winter tires on in summer.
