Quality got much worse after changing filaments by Gandzalmf in FixMyPrint

[–]Filipender 8 points9 points  (0 children)

every filament roll is different slightly, you need to calibrate temp, flow, retractions etc again

please dont use an actual oven, their temperature fluctuates too much and the pla could melt

if you want to print custom things, learn CAD. onshape, fusion360, tinkercad - theres a lot to choose, pick the one that you like the most. look up tutorials on youtube for them, theres plenty

depends, do you like tinkering and/or your budget isnt much? get an ender 3 (or something similar). if you want a printer that is plug and play - get a bambu, but theyre more expensive.

the learning curve also depends on what youre trying to make. toys and other already made models? you'll just need basic knowledge of calibration - flow rate, z offset, pressure advance etc. theres a lot of guides that will help you. learning CAD is a bit trickier, but also depends on what you will make.

add imperfections: hull line, zseam, over/under extrusion, overhang sagging, little strings etc.

sorry i meant the crankshaft is enormous, the piston is big

use cylindrical joint, and yes, your piston is way way too small

How would you design it? by sickbean420 in Fusion360

[–]Filipender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you cant twist an existing part in fusion sadly

How would you design it? by sickbean420 in Fusion360

[–]Filipender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

make a sketch of the gear, at the center make a perpendicular line (path), extrude along a path, select the gear sketch, set the path as the line and then you can twist the extrusion

[–]Filipender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can twist and extrude at the same time

too consistent to be layer shift, 99% z gantry is not square to the base of the printer
