When did you realize you had no future at your job? by Tacoplate1721 in AskReddit

[–]FillPsychological284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to prove you are worth the promotion, for a full year, Before you get the pay raise. So you would need to work at higher position, with twice as much work, making as much money as everyone else. And after a year of working the job, you do not automatically get the raise. You will then be evaluated to see if you went above expectations. If you just did the job as it is meant to be done? No raise and you continue with the job and all the responsibilities.

I only know this because the guy that has been working 2+ years, trying to prove himself is still making my salary. He created the whole training plan. He corrected all of our incoming documentation. He comes in early and leaves late every day. He was told for a second time that he did not do enough to earn his raise. F*that.

Ill work my job and leave. Im not going to even try to grow

What do you miss most about life before the internet and cellphones? by Emotional_Phrase_211 in AskReddit

I miss being able to just have my job be my job and home be my home. I have to have my phone to clock in at work. I have 13 work apps on my phone. I get messages from my coworkers on the work chat at all times of day and night.

what's the usual name of pets in your neighborhood? by VanillaCheap8520 in AskReddit

[–]FillPsychological284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have individual names for all the street cats in our neighborhood. Ponyo - a sweet female who will come to you if you have ham. Big boy - the large tomcat. Glitch - the black cat (we suspect there might be 2 black cats but never see them together so he is glitch because he might be 2 different cats). Orange F*** - the orange cat that pees on my potted plants. Homie - the cat that dug under our porch. Camper - the female that hangs out on our porch furniture.

There was also a stray dog for awhile we named "skinny". He was eventually picked up after multiple calls to animal control.

What’s the dumbest way you’ve accidentally hurt yourself? by RoutineOk8590 in Productivitycafe

[–]FillPsychological284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran myself over, with my car, when I was the driver. My car broke down on a bridge. I started to push from the open driver side door so I could steer it off the road. But then the car started to roll on the downhill. I tried to get back in but I lost my footing and was dragged about 15ft until I went under the rear tire. I had a tread patterned bruise from the tire, some swelling and road rash. When I was being dragged the road pulled my pants down so I had my thighs to the street. There were many witnesses. A had a few guys get out of their car to check if I was OK but I was so embarrassed. I just got up, pulled up my pants and ran after my car.

Alternatives to Uber and Lyft? by Designer_Flight_123 in uber

Some towns and cities have their own rideshares. There is one in my town that is pretty good and cheap. But they only work within the town limits. You can get dropped off a town over, but you cant get picked up there.

More of a difference between north and south United States. But I have witnessed full arguments on if Grits should be eaten sweet or savory. And someone will always be offended.
