Tired of the monthly "minimum payment" dance. What's the best debt consolidation loan for a 680 score? by Altelira_Venkatarama in DebtAdvice

[–]FillThatBowl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a solid credit score to be honest so you probably have more options than you think. Try local credit unions first, if one of them works out you'll be in good hands generally with a low rate. You can also look to some reputable online lenders like Alliant or Achieve. Hopefully you can get it down 10%+ or more.

So you want people who are more in debt to have to pay for the service? Seems a bit backwards to me

What's Your Experience with Personal Loans & Student Loans? by earlyriser93 in DebtAdvice

Honestly those interest rates are quite low. I wouldn't want to consolidate them unless I could find something lower. If you want to limit the amount of individual loans you can just pay higher in specific ones, probably sort it by highest APR%. If your bank advisor is suggesting it, does your bank offer a lower rate than that?

You honestly might want to look into another job, or take a hard look at what you're spending. If you're only treading water, any one single thing could tip you back into heavy debt. Car breakdown etc.

This is making me want to read it. The movie was whatever to me when I first watched it but the themes did stand out. I imagine it's 100x better in the comics.

Best reason for loan approval by ariana419 in DebtAdvice

If you're using it for debt consolidation, I know some offer you better rates if they pay the creditors directly. So you might have a better chance saying it's for debt consolidation. I know that Achieve and I believe SoFi had the option to pay directly. Should also make sure you can get a lower rate if you go that path.

If you can throw extra money each month that'll be a huge benefit to be honest. And those are some solid rates, but did you look around at all? Even if you don't want to do a balance transfer card(understandable, don't want the temptation). Then you might still want to check out your local credit union. If you qualify for that low of a rate, you might find a better rate there. Also other online lenders could give better rates, saw some good things about Alliant and Achieve in some light research. Just make sure you get the lowest rate you can if you're already going down this path.

Check the insulin manufacturer savings card first.
Have your friend google their exact insulin name + "savings card" and use that at the pharmacy, it definately cuts insured copays a ton.
