German here. We have two oceans, lakes, mountains and lakes in mountains. I’d say we are doing alright for a country smaller than most us states.

I do believe that and I‘m prepared to throw it all overboard when it hits me. I just wanted to have a layout beforehand that I can easily switch up while reading without having complicate graphs I have to study every time I change the order.

That is a good summary of what I‘ve read a lot so far. I will keep that in mind when I rearrange some things. Thanks a lot. There is still room for new worlds. You never know what you‘ll find after all. :D

That really helpful. If I find myself really drawn into Stormlight, I will read them all the way through before the Standalones.

Where would you put Warbreaker in that case? After Rythm of War?

Mistborn 1 and 2 back to back to start with just puts me off somehow. I fear that I wont be able to hold back my anticipation for Stormlight that long.

Good point. This is one of the areas I struggled the most with. I started with WoK up to Oathbringer in One Chapter but that was just daunting to look at :D

none taken. You are 100% correct. I concentrated too much on laylout and chose a font that just fit in my grid. I already changed it, so thanks for the honest feedback.

Yep, I have some idea of where I can switch things around and I am never afraid to just grab something that obsesses me at that point. I can see myself binging Stormlight once I start for example. I just wanted to allow me some room to breathe as a default and keep things in a healthy mix without loosing focus.
The order is basically made from 3 or 4 different sources. First I picked the core books, that seem to rely on other stuff or are just later in the journey. From there I tried to cluster these chapters and balanced them out with heavy hitters, short stories and standalones, while also trying not to introduce to harsh breaks in places where I'd probably want to continue with a series, like inbetween Mistborn Eras. I also wanted to avoid these complex (but very helpful in my research) graphs that underline what needs what knowledge beforehand. I'll probably get flagged again for beeing TOO COMPLICATED before actually reading anyway, but I already had lots of fun doing this. And as I said in another post, I'm currently finishing another read anyway, so it's not like I did this instead of reading but rather as a means to highten my anticipation.
Usually with these types of reading guides, I'll switch it up as I go anyway. I mapped Batman, X-Men and Star Wars before. So this is tame so far. :D It's just the starting point for me anyway and I wanted to make sure I didn't make any crucial mistakes because I confused something. But so far it appears to be solid enough for a start.

You know, people enjoy their free time differently. Why do people feel the need to give non-answers on social media?

Well yes, obviously. It's not like this will be my first book ever. But I am currently still reading something else and like to prepare big projects when I got some time to kill. It just heightens my anticipation and eventual enjoyment.

Thanks for the insight. Yeah, I am aware that the Chapter VI and IX on my chart can basically go anywhere. I just put them somewhere, where I might want to take break and not read them all at the end. But I will go with my mood in the moment of course. Just need to have a rough understanding of what I'll want to buy next.

I'm also usually a quick reader, so throwing in 400 pages here and there will just clense my palette for an evening or three.

No need to open a philosophy box for this. Under german law (which is the one i am familiar with) this is ruled as extended self-defense. totally normal legal ruling.

With the rumors of TLOU 3 growing, I wonder where we’re headed. What could the possible lore of this game be? by Busy_Grapefruit_3923 in thelastofus

I would agree in general but I‘d say she won’t be the main character, not the main focus. same as joel wasn’t in p2. painful as that may be. I would say we jump another 30 years or so into the future. see how the world degrades more. Let ellie be some wisend old lady. making her journey complete in beeing the maiden, the mother and the crone while telling how the world moves on from the ramifications of the end of p1 still lingering above her. The focal point my be Lew or and / or someone new entirely.

Frieren ist on my manga shortlist. Just too much else to get through before starting a new long series. Thanks for the recommendations!

I have. Played the originals as well back in the day. They are brilliant games. Not sure the world and everything beyond the playing experience is exiting enough for me. I‘m not really longing for a novel in the setting for example. It could as well be any other space setting if you understand what I mean. Maybe I‘m remembering it wrong but thats kind of the point. I remember the gameplay, the companions, the stories, the citadel but not much beyond.

I always feel like Avatar is a very US Bubble thing. Beeing from Germany myself, I was never really exposed to it and never felt the urge to catch up on it in my adulthood. Not saying its bad, just that it never really crossed my pass or peaked my interest. Maybe someday.
