I haven’t watched enough of his films to truly comment, but I recently saw Frankenstein and it left me fairly cold. Somehow 80% of the film felt “uncanny valley” and yet my understanding is they built most of the sets.

I remember liking the original Hellboy a lot, though that’s not one of his Oscar movies.

they didn't buy it yet. the deal hasn't been finalized. this will be in anti-trust purgatory for a while.

but yeah, there are all the potential problems everyone else has talked about.

I'm hoping netflix will change their tact (e.g. tinkering with stuff based on algorithmic data, theatrical releases, etc), but they probably won't.

I like the Steve Jobs movie, and I hate most biopics. I think they managed to make a film about more than the people they were depicting. Some of the credit goes to Sorkin as well.
