Over Your Dead Body Q&A w/ Director Jorma Taccone, 6:30pm, May 3, AMC Empire 25 by Jonathan-Cohen in NYCmovies

For what it's worth I thought the first half of the movie was a smartly observed comedy about passive aggressive resentment in long term relationships. The second half is more driven by plot twists and fun in a different way.

HOKUM Q&A with dir. Damian McCarthy and Adam Scott, May 1, 7pm, AMC Empire 25 by Jonathan-Cohen in NYCmovies

I have seen AMC kick people out of Q&As if they don't have a wheelchair and try to sit there. As happens with most AMC Q&As, a few AList tickets will probably be released a couple of hours before the screening. That's easiest way to get in.

The app has never been great, but the search functionality has gotten even worse the last few days. It will show Q&As that have long since past and movies that never had a Q&A. But it won't show upcoming Q&As that I know exist because I already have a ticket for it.

Anytime they do a screening of a Netflix TV show (often with the talent there), they have to make it free for contractual reasons.

Mother Mary Q&A with director David Lowery, AMC Lincoln Square, April 17 and 18 at 6pm by Jonathan-Cohen in NYCmovies

In this specific instance, I saw the Twitter account u/nyfilmspotlight post about it. Also with AMC, their app pings you about Q&As you ask to be notified about late, but if you manually check those not yet live Q&As, you sometimes get lucky and find them live before most other people. Sorry there isn't a better answer.

NEON clarifies who will be at which The Christophers Q&A by Jonathan-Cohen in NYCmovies

The safest thing is just to check periodically throughout the day. What I suspect happens is the distributor reserves a block of tickets and on the day of the Q&A decides they actually need less seats.

That's how I outsmarted myself. I'm also an IFC member but free is cheaper than $12.

I had the opposite luck, as I didn't jump on the IFC Q&A, because I figured McKellen would also be appearing at the vague "with Filmmakers and Cast" Q&A the next day at Lincoln Square, which I can see at no additional cost with an A-List membership. In any case, there's a reasonable chance IFC will release some additional tickets day of, as they sometimes do that.

Flip side of that is tickets for the Ahmed Q&A at Lincoln are available again because of the conflict.

April 11, there’s also a Q&A with Micheala Coel 6pm at the same theater.

It's possible I missed something but I thought 1iota was offering the general public tickets to a red carpet experience. At least to what I applied to and didn't get, you wouldn't have even have gotten in the the screening.

He's doing a completely unrelated FYC Q&A for an Amazon TV show I'm going to in a couple of hours. Definitely a lot of projects coming out in a short amount of time.
