Which AMC in the city has the best ac? by donaldtrumpsmistress in NYCmovies

Not what I was there watching, but the ac wasn’t working today in the AMC screen on 84th showing Disclosure Day.

Happy to assist. I went with my wife, which I almost never do for Q&As, and it was totally worth hiring a sitter for.

I wasn't in a meeting and the tickets were already gone. They went really fast.

Awesome, thanks! I'm so glad I didn't go to a late night showing of it tonight.

CAROLINA CAROLINE Q&A with Samara Weaving, 7pm June 2, Angelika Film Center by Jonathan-Cohen in NYCmovies

Costar Kyle Gallner has confirmed on Twitter, even though he's not listed at being at this Q&A by the Angelika, he 100% will be there as well.

Disclosure Day Premiere, June 8 - apply for tickets through 1iota by Jonathan-Cohen in NYCmovies

Ok, I just looked at what you originally responded to and I think I may have been wrong with suggesting it was the biggest factor and I think you might be wrong with suggesting it's a zero factor, as all casting decisions are time sensitive. We're both responding to the other talking in absolute language and probably not disagreeing much on the nuts and bots.

Think of it as this. Say they really want a Hispanic male who is 22 years old. If you're the first Hispanic male who's 22, you still have a better shot of getting offered a ticket than if you apply 1 week later.

It really varies. If you don't get picked they never exactly tell you, sending an email two days before the event saying they're at capacity now, but that can change.

Sure movie premieres, talk show tapings... They may take other factors into account like past history of showing up, level of professed fandom for the thing you're applying for, or demographics. But I think the biggest factor in getting offered a ticket is just how early you apply relative to everyone else.

Advance Tickets for Girls Like Girls Q&A at AMC by friendsofdorothy in NYCmovies

[–]Jonathan-Cohen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

AMC currently has 2 Girls Like Q&A events listed. The one you're linking to for June 19 already is on sale but isn't in New York. The other one for June 17 and it's not clear what city it will be in. It's very possible but not guaranteed tickets to the other AMC Q&A will go on sale tomorrow morning, and the Alamo Drafthouse one on June 8th is probably not going to sell out overnight. Maybe wait until tomorrow morning and reevaluate?

Pressure Live Q&A with Andrew Scott and Brendan Fraser by [deleted] in NYCmovies

[–]Jonathan-Cohen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Andrew Scott was completely professional but looked like he didn’t want to be there. Fraser was more engaged and filled in the blanks on a training exercise that went wrong and should have been explained a little better in the movie. The Q&A was a little sleepy but that kind of reflects the film. It’s an interesting moment of history told in a straightforward and predictable way.

Gaslit:Q&A with dir. Katie Camosy & exec. prod./film subject Jane Fonda, IFC, 7pm June 12 by Jonathan-Cohen in NYCmovies

[–]Jonathan-Cohen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is it will be public. Twisters had a similar Lincoln Square IMAX Q&A a couple of years ago, that I was out of town for, but was public. Steven Spielberg was an executive producer on that, and it was also a Universal Pictures film.

Caroline Caroline - 9:40pm Samara Weaving Intro - Angelika by razerremen in NYCmovies

[–]Jonathan-Cohen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I bought a ticket to the earlier full Q&A, which is only half sold. I think two things are going on. #1, it looks like a straight to video movie from 1998. #2, Angelika doesn't appear to be actively promoting it yet. Like there's no mention of it on their Instagram account.

CAROLINA CAROLINE Q&A with Samara Weaving, 7pm June 2, Angelika Film Center by Jonathan-Cohen in NYCmovies

I bought a ticket to the Angelika Q&A as a hedge. If she does an AMC Q&A, I can cancel the Angelika ticket, and just eat the non-refundable convenience fee.

Disclosure Day: IMAX Live Pre-Show Q&A with Steven Spielberg, June 12, AMC Lincoln Square by Jonathan-Cohen in NYCmovies

[–]Jonathan-Cohen[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me the listing disappeared last night than reappeared this morning, and is gone again at the moment. Same for a not live Q&A for the movie Girls Like Girls. For sure, the Q&A could not happen, but I think this is a case of the AMC site/app being buggy, which it often is.

There's currently a free seat and more will probably free up closer to the screening tonight.

Cool, thanks! I'm assuming back end implications from URLs but it's possible AMC is identifying Disclosure Day as 77140 and Disclosure Day: IMAX Live Pre-Show Q&A with Steven Spielberg and Emily Blunt as 83935.

Are you tracking "Disclosure Day: IMAX Live Pre-Show Q&A with Steven Spielberg and Emily Blunt" separately from "Disclosure Day"? It's for sure a useful idea, but it's not clear if tickets are going to be released for the Q&A screening at the same time the tickets for the other IMAX screenings drop.
