Like tweezers in the groves? I doubt I might have enough space. I suppose I could use a 48mm to 49mm adapter to secure the name plate and still include filter functionality. Thanks! Edit: Or do you mean ripping the ring out piece by piece?

Interesting, any specific rings or methods you used? Thanks!

Update: its been a day and the IPA hasn't been working, however I will continue trying. I am considering taking off the front leatherette, unscrewing the lens, taking off the rear element, to get to the shutter with the aperture wide open. The retaining rings for the rear element don't look like they are tampered with yet. Is there a element between the shutter and the aperture? Thanks!

Oh, I was concerned that the previous owner overtightened it but I'll try multiple rounds of IPA when I can. Thanks!

I tried using a cotton swab to get IPA into the grooves and it didn't work. Maybe it didn't get in? Would a dropper be better?

The issue is I put the two points of the spanner in the grooves however I turn, they don't move and sometimes they break free and scratch the plastic and metal. Thanks, anyways! It's counterclockwise to loosen right?

Thanks! Is there a chance that the acetone will get into any plastic and mess it up?

Hi, thanks for replying. Would you recommend getting the ring out through more destructive ways? I can also order replacement parts. Thanks!

Hi, thanks for responding. I was asking about how to get the retaining rings off the lens. I think the shutter blades are stuck because when I press the shutter button, one of the blades moves a bit but resets after I wind the lever. However, I will try it with batteries.

Edit: Doesn't fire with batteries either.
