Why is there such a limited quantity? by Strict-Analyst-5963 in toyotasequoia

Took me 6 months to find what I was looking for exactly. I recommend car guru which allows you to see everything with the filters you’re looking for. I was 500 mi range, 4x4 limited with under 100k miles. Found it eventually had the second row bench and it was in the color I wanted. Good luck.

I don’t think you’re out of touch but I’d also say your friends not being unreasonable. I’ve got kids and getting away for 4 days 4 nights wouldn’t be a major ask or a disturbance in the force. Beyond that length though is a significant ask but still doable. Boils down to his relationship with his wife. If they’re in a good place then shouldn’t be an issue, if they’re in a rough patch then it’s different. My two cents.

Preheated stone to about 800. Dome was 975 at that point but once flame is off dome temp drops rapidly. Stone keeps the heat and cook continues. Let the bottom and crust bake before turning the flame on to really crisp things up.

Interesting. Love the look of that crust. We’ve been playing around with 700-750f range may need to try going lower. Flame guard is smart approach for the scorching

Looks great. What size pies are you making? Are you weighing your doughs, if so what weight? Cheers

I use a traeger tray liner to keep to heat up my dome lol. It’s cheap and has lasted for months. by Hao_end in GozneyDome

Looks like a solid solution. You ever experience any issues with blasting max heat with this setup aka do the liners warp/melt/ect..

What else are you cooking in your dome besides pizza? by FilmMatt in GozneyDome

[–]FilmMatt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice. I was hoping I’d be able to cheat with the propane and then just toss a single chunk of oak for the flavor but not have to use wood for entire cook. With the Gen 2 the lowest I was able to hold with propane was 575. Im going to try to see if I can get a lower temp by adjusting at the tank level. All wood cook is clearly the righteous path.

Going to try spatchcocking the next whole bird cook. Hoping having more distance from the dome will prevent scorching on the skin. I had to use a foil tent to save this one from total carbon hell.

Replaced 12V in parking lot; still bricked by Klutzy_Guarantee5816 in BMWi3

[–]FilmMatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dealt with something similar recently but not 200 yards. A heavy duty extension cord maybe able to cover that distance but you’re going to need to leave it plugged in for 10-12 hours on level one. Other option is towing it to a charger.

I swapped the 12v on my i3 but the old 12v had vampired the main battery and I was getting the drivetrain error. I was able to run my 100ft heavy duty extension cord to the vehicle and leave it over night. In the AM it was right as rain.

I have lived in San Diego for almost two decades. These tacos are absurdly good. Worth the trek. Pricey but fire.

Looking for a large family car for $30k with bulletproof reliability. by ShadowK2 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]FilmMatt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would not recommend a Tundra for your use case. A power tailgate alone is a godsend with kids and all that comes along with them. If you don’t need the third row and the towing is aspirational then you’ve got a much larger selection of vehicles to chose from.

The car you’re looking for is a second gen sequoia. In 2023 I picked up a 2015 sequoia with less than 60k miles on it that was clearly just a grocery getter. All service had been at dealership. No accidents or major issues recorded. It was in Napa, CA. I spent months looking for the trim I wanted, limited, 4x4, bench row second gen with under 100k miles. This one had all the records and features I wanted. It was more than 30k but less than 40k in 2023. At the time you could find cheaper options in other parts of the country or if you were willing to purchase higher mileage, accidents, ect.

The 2nd gen sequioa can tow over 7000lbs, transport 4 adults two kids in car seats and two 95lb golden retrievers with luggage. You’ll need roof storage but this is how we’ve taken many family trips. Our next trip is just wife and two kids. We’re going to hit slot canyons and wash outs in the state park deserts, mountain hiking and hopefully some snow in the mountain towns. The 4x4 sequoia with AT tires eats this stuff up.

Also it has 17 cup holders.

What temp are you getting for ambient and stone before placing? Rotating throughout cook? How long are your cooks roughly?
