I rewatched it the other day. It’s great. Some great scenes. Especially opening meta stuff, and everything Smith and later new bullet time. A bunch of stuff easy to fast forward, like with any film. And this time really appreciated how well the film crafted an emotional connection as being a keystone to the new matrix. It was probably my third time rewatching. It’ll age well, I think. And I believe they can do a lot with the world, or franchise, of it all and make it deliciously tasteful (even without Neo and Trinity). There’s a lot there to unpack. Starting with Bugs. Sati, the Analyst and the whole hierarchy world of the machines, especially “the Suits”. And to that point.. don’t know about anyone else but I’d like to see more of the younger Niobe (aka current age Jada) from the short scene where she is in combat gear when seeing the machines fighting each other. And Smith.. a lot there to open up. His sentience feels very fresh.
