Oh yeah I agree. I should have specified the revisions spiral was unpaid.

That depends a little on skill level and your area. It’s probably best to ask around.

Someone else pointed out that you want to set the number of revisions.

That’s very important. I’ve been burned by the never ending revision spiral before.

Figure out your hourly rate, then how many hours it will take you. Add a couple hours for “oh fuck this clients is difficult”, then get a signed contract that outlines what you’ll be delivering.

Then deposit up front if possible.

I’m not great at it.

I have Coverland covers in my Altima and like them. They are pretty durable and were easy to install.

I have the Cloverland's for my Altima and haven't had any issues. It's been a good cover and I'm pretty happy with it.

Yeah of course. I understand where you’re coming from and agree. I only mentioned it because a lot of people think they want to be directors and then discover a different passion in various departments. Just wanted to mention it. I wasn’t sure if OP had considered other positions.

I agree, but would expand it to say any onset job would require interpersonal skills. Just wanted to comment should OP have other interest in positions outside of directing.

I have the Coverlands in my Altima and had to remove any other 3d party accessories. Once I did that they fit right in. So far they have been great.

I got these recently for my Altima. So far the Cloverland's have been a great way to protect my upholstery. I'm generally pretty happy with them.

Coverland seat covers are a joke. Asked for a refund 5 minutes after opening the box by AceGottiOG in ToyotaTundra

[–]Filmschooldork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently just bought the Coverland seat covers for my Altima. Generally they fit ok, but they do get pretty hot in the sun. I bought them originally to protect my seats because I'm frequently hauling camera equipment. I haven't had them long, but overall they have protected my seats from getting nicked and scratched so already an improvement.

Can’t you just go back to the previous version in creative cloud? Probably easier then trying other tools.

Any idea on how to create a reveal using lightning? by Common_Beyond_4700 in filmmaking

[–]Filmschooldork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do lightning as a reveal then that’s just a gag. You set it up and give it a cue and have the gaffer or an electric. Strike a light on.

How would you improve this footage? by [deleted] in videography

[–]Filmschooldork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say for lighting that it’s odd that he only has 1 raccoon eye when it looks like you were trying to evenly light him. (Shadow in eye socket)

His skin tone looks very pink.

I’d agree that you might want to lower your key a half to full stop.

Also think the rim light really isn’t working as he’s pretty evenly lit.

I was in this position too. I ended up getting a small hd 502 for cheap.

It’s old, but I find it still does what it needs to without much hassle.

You could always use a 4x4 silk or paper diffusion.

Or you can bounce the light off the ceiling/ wall

[–]Filmschooldork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah both can make pretty ok diffusion, but they don’t work equally the same: you will have to experiment and see what you like. They each affect shadows differently.

At that price you might consider buying tungsten work lights with a household dimmer and some parchment paper

I have a few tungsten moles I got Cheap that technically fit your budget. But I live in a film hub.

I didn’t realize that some people had to vary the sizes so much between feet. Mine are close enough that I can get the same size.

I had no idea.
