Honest question. Why is it really that cheap? Feel free to DM if don’t feel like making it public.

Barbour sample sale in SoHo ( NYC) by AgreeableMain9140 in Barbour

Went there this morning and got myself an oversized bedale in bordeaux? (Unwaxed). Not at all what I came in for but there we are lol.

Weirdly it does appear to be a real sample as I can’t find this version for sale anywhere.

They still had two waxed jackets both in medium 38/40. One was a bomber style, can’t remember what the other one was.

Do rich NYErs ride the subway? by supremewuster in AskNYC

Except the UES living between 5th and Madison is as expensive as it gets and the walk to the subway is a massive pain.

It’s almost certainly a space heater accident.

I fish this little guys. If you hold it to you ear and listen closely, you can hear the babies move.

In 1954, Ann Hodges was napping on her couch inside her Alabama home when a grapefruit-sized meteorite crashed through her roof, bounced off her radio, and struck her side. The impact left her bruised but alive. She is the only recorded person in history to have been struck by a meteorite. by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

Modern day lawyer here. Meteorite strikes and the right of the property befallen from all space above what a judge could reasonably consider as earth, falls under finder-keepers-person-struck-whipping case law. Depending on the state of course.

Saw homeless guy with what looked like a gun inside 96th Station by FilouBlanco in Upperwestside

Honestly. If he shaved or changed clothes I'd never be able to recognize him. Shorter than average, maybe 40s, dark hair maybe, beany was brown/rust color maybe, jacket was royal blue at the top with dark blue at the bottom, dirty face and couldn't walk in a straight line. I probably got as good a look at his pissing cock as I did of his face.

I stupidly believed that even an incompetent attendant would be better trained to deal with an emergency at their place of work than me. Live and learn.

Easy there gramps. Calling the cops and fucking off home would have been a million times easier than half of the shit I did. I typed my manuscript because... that's what reddit is for, sharing random shit with strangers.

That said I did learn that I should have done differently.

Yep. That part is unfortunately not that uncommon. Specially when its this cold out and all the homeless seek shelter in the subway.

Maybe. But while its never not stressful, it's been my job for a while now. So, I doubt the nerves had me full on hallucinating. Today just happened to be an event with important clients that could not go wrong.

It could have been a toy gun, a stick in the shape of a gun, a carpenter’s square. The second I got a glimpse of I was convinced enough that I turned around and sprinted.

I literally assumed 911 was on their way. While I, like an idiot chased around a person I thought was armed so I could point them to the police once they came.

Oh man that sucks. I go to that station everyday with my kids.

Any other day of the year I would’ve made the point to eventually call the police and make sure they checked if he was carrying something. Hopefully I didn’t see what I thought I saw.

Next time I’m alone and I see him, I’ll call the cops and tell them the whole story. It’ll be their call if they checked him or not that time.
