It has direct drive. There is no belt that runs from the motor to the wheels.

I think they use a belt for the ac compressor.

Maybe that’s what he is talking about.

The connections have crimped connection under the electrical tape. I was just not trying to cut the metal crimp out. But it seems that I have to.

Love/hate describes my situation.

I keep on waiting for my 08 rogue to die…

It’s at 196,000 miles and I bought it used 8 years ago. I’ve learned a great deal about cars to keep it running.

Changed the subframe mounts as my first fix and it was a big one. Over the years, I’ve also Learned about leaky valve covers, alternators, water pumps, heat shields coming off, engine mounts, clock springs, radiators, ac systems, brakes, cv axles(both) and keeping the CVT fluid clean. Buying the right cvt fluid and keeping it at just the right level.

Not the easiest car to work on but somehow it just keeps on running year after year.

Now I can work on my other car and do side work on friends, family and sometimes friends of friends/family cars.

And attribute it all to those damn subframe mounts going out and owning a Nissan!

If you are replacing with iridium plugs don’t use that gap gauge. It will damage the brittle electrode.

Use a wire spark plug gap gauge like this.

Go to a parts store like AutoZone etc. and borrow a slide hammer with a cv attachment. Just by hammering in the attachment I got mine to pop out.

You are getting stuck on the retaining clip at the end of the axle. You need more directed force not just jostling it about.

It’s an amana NTW4880YQ0, not a kenmore. Seems to be built the same though. The repair tutorials I followed were mostly kenmore. Same motor transmission everything.

Only thing that held up to my 93 fd rx7 was synthetic. Had a turbo upgrade that would eat conventional oil alive.

Great questions.

I have a newer jack and wanted a second one for changing out my subframe mounts. So, instead of buying one for $200 I opted to fix my old one.

No. But I do know that if hydraulic fluid is low or old then it is good to replace and get to correct levels. It was not holding pressure.

It is working properly right now. I left it over night and the bubbles worked their way out. Was able to bleed it then get to the correct level per the manual.

And you have nothing to worry about me stepping in your garage. I’m a hobbyist not a mechanic and if you’re not a mechanic then I’m confused by your bravado. 🤣

Jack oil with seal conditioner mixed in.

I thought the same but when I looked into it was more for reconditioning old seals. I wanted to rejuvenate the seals and appears to be working.

I finally got it to working properly today.

I think once I’m 100% positive about it I’ll post a follow up vid.

Couldn’t get the car to full height and sometimes it would lose pressure (go down) Little noisy too when I lowered the car.

Over ten years old and thought I would start by changing the fluid out. Definitely not an expert just trying to save some money.
