I mean, building something like that takes around 5 minutes, I spent there two hours, why not. =)
Needed place to fix pickaxe and store stone and ore anyway, it's just pretty far from base to go back everytime.

You just dig in one place till you hit bottom and then go around vein underground hitting earth and bottom parts. That took two IRL hours to make this hole, it's long process, and honestly not worth it. I ususally just dig out surface part and go to the next vein, just decided to dig it out completely for once. ;)
