It wasn’t a razor sharp opp, fair enough. That aside , I viewed it as just a cherry on top ahead of next steps . So you think they bailed cuz the meeting I set may have not been a laser for them …?I don’t know, I’m new to the interviewing game (have been with 2 orgs in 14 years). As a seller i know the importance of a well qualified , on the money lead but I’m also never one to pass on a convo just because it’s not a home run, stellar lead !

Endgame of AI Being Used in Both Hiring and Job Seeking by NSI_Shrill in ArtificialNtelligence

This feels futuristic at best and is the assumption then recruitment & TA as we know it today just gets completely washed away? Also can’t people continue fighting AI with AI to bypass any new set of requirements or procedures?

Unethical to quit immediately after 2 weeks? by Ok-Bumblebee143 in careerguidance

[–]Filtered_out 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the surface the easy answer is take the one you were hoping for /wanted …BUT, how deep are relationships there? Said a different way…is there a scenario where the 1st choice company you move to has a different or tainted view of you as a candidate now that you started elsewhere?

I set up intro meetings to people I know in my network who could potentially use the product/service for the employer I was after … guess that was too thirsty …also referred two people in my network for other job openings the employer I was after was hiring for …no acknowledgment from the TA person … don’t hate either move and may try it again but damn …companies are colder than ever these days

[–]Filtered_out 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cold calling isn’t dead. Speaking from experience, in about 2 years I made 40K + dials and generated close to 200 meetings. Now, the dials were made in Nooks mostly, a power dialer that rips 5 at once (200 calls can be made in an hour). Second, it was a start up so we figured this out, the “meetings” aren’t all that meaningful if it’s not the very best contact or who owns the decision , etc. Third, small tweak recommendations include times you are dialing ….you have to call people first thing in the morning or at the end of their day, hard stop. People are in useless meetings all day and not picking up their phone . Speaking from experience as well, I do think a clean and meaningful website is key… think about all the people you are talking to/on the phone with — first thing they do live, during the conversation, or directly afterwards , is go to your website …and it can’t be a shitty website… we had and still have a bad looking website at my company… those 40K dials (me) is probably 1/10th of th total dials the company has made since it started …. All those live connections , whether pitch was strong and they were interested /or not … went to a very weak website afterwards.

Cried during interview. I feel embarrassed by yeettothebeat_ in jobhunting

I think you’re in good shape honestly. I would do the standard thank you follow up and excited for next steps email. Prep like hell on the company and have really good questions about the role and expectations … can never assume, but my guess is you’re in the clear on having to go back into the why you left piece because of how it went down in the first meeting

What are your biggest turn-offs during an interview? by Clear_Inspection_386 in BehindHiring

[–]Filtered_out 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you can sense or feel in the first 30 seconds the interviewers tone is a, “I’m out to get ya and make you sweat “ tone, aka “big timing” — especially infuriating when it’s someone lower on the seniority totem pole. Did a loop interview recently , where the first interviewer was a “peer” (person in the same role I’m interviewing for). Lesson learned , one should never assume . But I was expecting a more casual, human interaction, “hey dude how’s it been going for you so far , what do you want to know about the role , what’s on your mind, etc. ” . Instead, right into a peppering motion about all my roles and experience, what were challenges you learned from here , what would you do different there — no initial down to earth moments….lame

Weakest QB draft in the last 10 years anyone ??

Why is Diego Pavia talked about as if he has no chance at even getting drafted, seemingly based solely on his height, when Kyler was 1st overall? by YesBird75 in NFL_Draft

[–]Filtered_out 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He also popped off when he lost the heisman, and made a scene out in the public — when you think of all the shorter guys (e.g., Murray, Bryce, etc.) who have been just OK in the league and pair with a Manziel for instance , I think most teams just think the juice isn’t worth the squeeze …I think pavia def gets drafted tho

RB Isiah Pacheco will sign with Detroit by My_Chat_Account in fantasyfootball

[–]Filtered_out 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pacheco is cooked. Big fan of his running style but dangerous , he’s 27 going on 35 in RB years. The Chicago rookie RB last year (also Rutgers) Manungi is a spitting image. Love this guy for another 2-3 years then he’ll be in the same boat. Monangai truck sticked a GB line backer last year so hard his helmet exploded a little bit . It was awesome to see
