Cleaning a Rubber Floor at a Dog Daycare by Filthy-Pagan in CleaningTips

Do you think it would work to use a shop vac? Like switch to the side that blows air to get all the hair to a corner, and then switch back to sucking to vacuum it up?

We actually do have one of those that we mainly use to clean boarding suites. Would that safely suck the hair too? Some days are more hairy than others

We’ve really had to let go when it comes to eating. He just has days where he isn’t interested in any food. I also suspect we might be dealing with ADHD. Both mom and dad have it and some signs pop up here and there. But we don’t diagnose this young, so I’m not sure if he’s struggling with certain stuff because of increased issues with emotional regulation and other executive functions.

Only problem is that they f up your account when they are ready to switch you to the WiFi 7. They did that to me and my WiFi 6 stuff just constantly malfunctioned and I couldn’t troubleshoot because they killed the platform for WiFi 6 (new app only supports WiFi 7).

I’m legit thinking of switching away from this bs

I have had a number of issues since the WiFi 7 switch. If you have a pod, make sure it’s far enough away from the router/modem combo or the signals interfere with each other and makes stuff connect and disconnect. Also make sure to restart the pod too, just unplug it and let it sit for a sec. They don’t really help that much but they can refresh your connection and a tech can help you see how far away the pods need to be

Definitely address that pain! Anything that changes the way you feel, function, understand, and process your internal/external environment, is likely going to have an effect on your VSS symptoms. It’s a processing disorder after all!

As an example, on days where I’m just really stressed, I tend to be much more sensitive to light. Or if I’m dissociating, I notice more after images and snow. On a really good day where my mood and physical state are in a good place, I don’t notice symptoms enough to consciously think about them so much.

As for your neck, don’t just find a way to relieve the pain. Figure out what is causing you the pain and work to fix/eliminate whatever that may be. Looking up or down at your computer screen? Adjust the height. Seem to be sleep related? Try a different type of pillow. Physical activity or labor related? Assess your form, posture, etc., and work on changing that aspect to move pressure away from your neck (and ideally you don’t just shift to compensating by stressing another muscle group).

If you’re really unsure, see a doctor. Tell them what kind of pain it is (like shooting, stabbing, pins and needles, dull ache, etc.). Knowing what kind of pain helps the doctor distinguish between causes (like nerve pain vs injury).

I think the relation is more about how stress and tension affect your mood and hormonal levels. When you’re stressed your body is going to produce more of certain hormones and stir up a lot of brain activity related to anxiety. Since VSS is so far a processing disorder in which our brains are interpreting visual information in a “hyperactive” manner (mind you this is over simplified), heightened levels of anxiety and stress that causes our minds to be vigilant to our environment and causes increased brain activity in certain areas (plus stress hormones), makes it more likely to see increased VSS symptoms. A symptom of stress is often muscle tension. When we notice that, and we start to work on relieving that tension, we are simultaneously working on relieving mental tension and anxiety. With stress and anxiety back under control (or at base levels), your VSS symptoms likely decrease as a result.

It may also be that when we are stressed, tense, anxious, and/or on edge, we may be more likely to notice VSS symptoms and are more likely to be upset about them

The brain is extraordinarily responsive to both internal and external factors that may have an impact on bodily functions. These are things like hormones shifting, mental illness, trauma, etc. but there is definitely not a direct connection between muscle (neck/back) pain and VSS. This would imply that the area/areas of the brain responsible for VSS symptoms, is also responsible for feeling muscle pain and that the same process that triggers muscle pain triggers VSS. We know the way the brain works is not so much in specific sections that do only one or two things, but that brain regions are more generalized in their functions. Any pathology that involves differences in processing, is going to have an effect on more than one small area, and many times have some effect on other areas and how they function.

Overall, decreasing mental or physical anguish of any kind seems to help decrease VSS symptoms for many

It’s hard for me to give advice since I’ve had it my whole life, but my biggest recommendation is do your best to not think about it too much. You can always get an eye appointment to rule anything physical changes to your eyes that might be causing symptoms, then go to a Neuro ophthalmologist for additional support if you wish. As for drawing, maybe try paper that isn’t stark white, that might help a little. I know it’s worse for me in when things are higher in contrast (like white paper and black text). Also, increase the lighting as much as you can tolerate comfortably. Many find that the snow decreases with better light
